lol since everyone wants to try and figure out who is to blame for this loss ... Why is McCray escaping blame for not getting off the field-Ogletree escaping blame for his countless illegal shifts and drops-Carr escaping blame for giving up 2 huge plays back to back-Ware escaping blame for having very little presence in the game. Rob Ryan's pathetic system... Oh and last but not least Here's an idea!!! : Make the FG Bailey, dude has to earn his bread too folks, stop with the blame game, they were in a position to win and he missed the kick.. He had the distance easily and just pulled it left

agree 100
%. except for Bailey. It is 51 yards. So does that make it like 85%.

If Garrett is so confident in Bailey from that distance then why punt the ball earlier instead of letting him kick it?

this guy somehow thinks a 51 yard FG, which is the longest that Bailey ever made before, outdoors in a swirling wind, should be automatic.

Bailey is one of the best players on this team. I will not blame him for this game. Garrett and the mental mistakes this team make week after week.

Exactly. The play call before that kick was horrible. Calling a 2 yard slant on the left side to place the ball on the left hash with the wind blowing from right to left? Ridiculous!

Based on the wind direction the best play would've Been a middle run or pass/run right so that the kick would be placed in the middle or right hash. That way Bailey would have been kicking with the wind guiding the ball through the goal post, instead of from the left hash where the wind can only push it away.

That was horrible play management on Garrett's part. Bailey was set up to fail, especially given the long distance of that kick.

so they were planning on that being the last play?

Maybe not but Garrett clearly did not have a play ready after that. He had one time out left and has a play to slant into the middle of the field? If complete you have to have the next play ready to move the ball to the middle or right, to line up the kick right so that the time out is used wisely to stop the clock for the correctly-aligned kick.

Garrett wasted too much time trying to figure out the obvious and could not. So he had to use the time out in haste. For a coach that over-practices situational football as much as he does, it's puzzling to me how he's so unprepared for that kind of situation, especially given that it is reminiscent of similar coaching/game-mismanagement botches of his from a year ago.

the ball was completed 5 yds downfield. dez was fighting for more and was pushed back.
we should have got forward progress. dez, foolishly was arguing this point instead of just hurring up to the line. this is what prevented us getting off another play..

Another reason Bailey shouldn't be blamed for this loss - his fantastic onside kick was largely the only reason we even had a chance to win the game (you still need the bounce to go your way of course).

The game should've been over when Dez dropped the 2 point conversion.

Situational football at its finest. Good thing Garrett spends so much time practicing these things. The carryover to games is unmatched by the rest of the league.

Lets not forget Garrett passed on a 52 yard attempt earlier in the game and we punted. Then decided settling for a 51 yard game winner. Okayyyyy.

Let's not forget the Bush League excuse he gave after the Cardinals game about being in FG range when it was a 51 yarder.

Somehow a FG that is 51 yards to win the game is "in range" but a 51 yarder in the 2nd half isn't "in range".

Ryan escaping blame? I dont know who is more over rated? Him or some of the guys he coaches. Exotic blitzes my rear end.

The defense didn't give much up in the second half. My only criticism is they tend to give up too much when it's crunch time.

The other teams getting paid too. It is in their home field too. And in one of the TDs they probably stopped the TD and getting off the field but refs called a mysterious encroachment call , without a number to give the ball back.

even tho Bailey is an NFL kicker and 51 yards should be makeable in the right conditions, I don't blame him for losing the game. I would place more blame on Dez for not catching the 2pt conversion to tie the game than the FG attempt. But I don't put scapegoat status on Bailey.

you might say, team effort again: special teams more like special ed; adrop from Dez, missed FG from Bailey, brain freeze from Garrett, penalties at worst times throughout the game again that had a direct affect.

No, not using the timeout right away is what prevnented getting off another play.Snap it and take a shot or get off a quick hitter and spike it. Garret screwed the pooch on that one
