Baker Mayfield a Brown?

I TOLD you all after the Jets made a move to get up tp 3 what would happen like a month ago. They knew who the Browns and the Gmen wanted back then or they would have NEVER EVER made that trade with Buffalo. They want Josh Allen. The Browns badly want Saquan and Mayfield. I'm guessing the Browns will take Mayfield at 1 and Barkley at 4. I have my doubts with Gettleman taking a RB at 2. He's a guy who loves the oline and DLINE. I will be willing to bet he takes either Chubb or Nelson at 2. But just wanted to remind you all who said this over a month ago. Low and behold today we are hearing multiple reports that the Browns have taken Darnold and Rosen off their board and Elevated Mayfield to 1. THEY LOVE THIS KID AND HIS MOXY.IMO..they are correct. He is the best QB in this draft NOW.Maybe in 3 years Darnold is,but right now its Baker.Thoughts?

And I think Baker will be a decent QB, better than say Jake Plummer, but never an elite QB.

I agree actually. If I'm the Jets I'm taking Barkley or drafting Darnold.

I truly believe the top 5 picks will go like this,tell me what you think: 1.) Baker Mayfield..Cleveland . 2.) Nelsen,..The Gmen..3.) Josh Allen, The Jets..4.) Barkley..Cleveland..and at 5.) Bradley Chubb..Denver.

But Allen will be a total bust IMO.

Allen and Darnold are both at high risk of busting. Darnold has a weird low wind up release(not good at the pro level). Allen has accuracy issues. He is streaky as hell.Very raw.

Mayfield has always been at the top of the Browns board. Mayfield has been embracing the idea of being a Brown from the very get go. I think John Dorsey and Haslam fell in love with that guy early. Its a great fit for a team begging to be relevant again. Mayfield achieves that. Mayfield and Barkley would be dynamic. I see Darnold and Allen as raw projects at the pro level.

Barkley is the only QB I would take of those guys. I know he is a boom or bust guy but I love his attitude and heart and if Cleveland needs anything for a QB to have it is that to get through the mess.

With that said...Some shows are saying that the Giants will take S.Barkley or Chubbs...UNLESS the Browns pass on Darnold. Different people saying he is the one QB the Giants like.

With that said...Some shows are saying that the Giants will take S.Barkley or Chubbs...UNLESS the Browns pass on Darnold. Different people saying he is the one QB the Giants like.

The Browns already said Taylor was going to be their QB this season. Why would you draft Mayfield if you think Darnold or Allen will be the better QBs in 2 to 3 years?

I personally think Allen is going to be a super star. Every one loves to put these guys into boxes and ignore the rest. He isn't like other strong armed QBs who failed miserably, he is super smart 37 on his wonderlic, he wants to learn, he scored high on the chalk board, hired a coach to work on his foot work, and he is fairly humble. He isn't a total knucklehead like Leaf and others.

doesn't MATTER. Mayfield may not start and that's fine..but at some point this year he will. Taylor was brought in as a bridge..nothing more.Allen will be good..but not Elite.

ditto. Love what he brings to the table for a starving fanbase and team like Cleveland. Great fit. He's got the heart of a lion and that's what you need at QB. He's a winner and he expects to win. That's a huge sign of a QB you want leading your club.

I also think the Dog Pound will love him due to his attitude.

Mayfield will push the HELL out of Tyrod in camp and I would not be shocked if he wound up starting. Hes got some Romo factor to him...and a little Favre,but the guy has a belief that's infectious. The fanbase and dogpound included will be rejuvenated and LOVE THIS PLAYER. He has already embraced them.

well said,and I couldn't agree more. The writing has been on the wall about this pick for months. Most experts just failed to see it.

Browns have a real GM now, no more analytics,, actually think they may surprise a few of their fan base in this draft.
Having said that, it wouldn't surprise me if they took 2 QBs with their first 2 picks, but it wouldn't surprise either if they ended up with Barkley and Chubb.
The Brown control everything day 1,, don't think for a minute that they haven't added extra phone lines and cell phone towers specifically to their war room..
Phones will be a ringing.
There are 2nd round QBs that I know for a fact, that their top scouts have been in close contact with.
This draft is going to be some serious shaking gentlemen.

Barkley and Chubb would be very nice...but still leaves a hole at QB heading into the future next year. I think they will come away with Mayfield and Barkley on day 1. I have a theory that when the jets traded up recently to 3,they likely made some calls to Gettleman at 2 and the Browns at 1 to see who they were targeting. This goes on all the time. The Jets want Allen Badly...that's why they did this move. They already know who they want. Going off that: Mayfield,Nelson,Allen,Barkley then Chubb to the Broncos at 5. Gives them bookend pass rushers.

Remember something,the Giants still have a fairly bad oline..even with Solder. Their guards are horrid...and right tackle aint no cakewalk. If they pass on the best guard in this draft at 2,they may have some splaining to do with their fanbase.

Drafting a G at #2 overall is unprecedented. Passing on what would be the best pass rusher in the draft or the potential to have your next franchise QB on the roster would cause more of a ruckus imo.
