Love how they are feeding him the ball and scheming him open. The offense is taking some steps forward.

Huge litmus test Sunday
Scheming things open is what all cowboys fans have been asking for. J
Garrett was all about beat your man with no help from the playcall. To beat the tough teams MM will have to scheme a lot open or things will go south like they always have. Needs to continue vs Philly, they can't go back to generic playcalling next week

They reverted to "generic" play-calling in the second half of the Rams game, in which the Cowboys were outscored 11-10. Granted, "analytics" may well dictate that the best strategy with a 33-9 halftime advantage is to run clock and sit on a lead for an entire half. Totally get it. Doesn't mean the fans have to like tapping the brakes, though. I'm sure Dan Quinn remembers a certain Super Bowl. ;-)

More than half the league's defenses are. This was before the Dallas game:

#13: Los Angeles Rams

The Rams defense put in another good showing in their 24-17 loss to the Steelers over the weekend. Seven of those points came thanks to an interception that put the Steelers on the Rams 31-yard-line. They were led by a monster effort from Michael Hoecht, who led the team with seven tackles, two sacks, and two QB hits. The team held the Steelers to 300 yards and limited Pittsburgh to a measly 5.4 yards per play.

LA’s success on defense comes from their ability to limit yardage, but they haven’t been doing much else. They have the lowest turnover total (5) and the fourth-lowest sacks (12). One reason for that is the regression of Aaron Donald, who is no longer the game-changing pass rusher that he once was. This is a solid overall defense, but they will need to find a way to get into opposing backfields if they want a shot at making the playoffs.

The Rams will head to Dallas this weekend to take on the Cowboys.

Lol, these games don't matter. Dallas has to beat real contenders, which they haven't done since 2014.

We've been beating teams like the Rams for years.

So we're going to cast aside or downplay every victory that doesn't come against a real contender? You've got to win those games, too, and winning in the NFL is not easy. There are far more Rams-quality teams out there than real contenders. We ultimately will have to beat those real contenders, but beating teams like the Rams put us in position to do that. We took care of business (which we didn't against the Cards) against a middle-of-the-pack defense, nothing wrong with that

Sure, they count, but they're not the games that decide true contenders. We've lost every one of those since 2015.
