They need to mix it up more with Micah, would love to see him in a more traditional LB role more often, this constant DL assignment is going to wear him out or injure him.
Its like parcells always said about ware who is bigger than micah those guys are going to get beat up. Micah should only be at DE on passing situations other than that LEO who on every play determines if its a run or pass. That decides what he will do. Irvin’s role inSeattle back in the day. This I believe is what they will work on in the offseason. He will master that going forward. We will draft a pass-rushing run-stopping DE. Micah can dominate DE until he gets beatup and injured which was pretty quick this year. Thats all he can do at his size.

Got’ ‘‘em on last drive though. Tunsel got jumpy and false start twice in a roll.

1. Cut blocks are legal

NFL Rules ARTICLE 5. CHOP BLOCK

A Chop Block is a block by the offense in which one offensive player (designated as A1 for purposes of this rule) blocks a defensive player in the area of the thigh or lower while another offensive player (A2) engages that same defensive player above the waist.

All Chop Blocks are illegal, including in the following situations:

Forward pass plays and kicking plays:

  1. A1 chops a defensive player while the defensive player is physically engaged above the waist by the blocking attempt of A2.
  2. A2 physically engages a defensive player above the waist with a blocking attempt, and A1 chops the defensive player after the contact by A2 has been broken and while A2 is still confronting the defensive player.
  3. A1 chops a defensive player while A2 confronts the defensive player in a pass-blocking posture but is not physically engaged with the defensive player (a “lure”).
  4. A1 blocks a defensive player in the area of the thigh or lower, and A2, simultaneously or immediately after the block by A1, engages the defensive player high (“reverse chop”).

2. Grabbing jersey is not a hold. If you’re hands are inside- not a hold

Hooking players and sustained holds with out-stretched arms are not legal. That is what Micah has been facing.[/QUOTE]

If they're gonna triple team him on the outside, line him up over the center guard at times. He's good enough to rush from anywhere.

Lost in all of the usual ref-whining is the fact that Tunsil is a much bigger guy, which is what Parsons faces weekly. Chipped inside, forced to overpower 330 pound men.

The "make him a full-time DE crowd" is seeing what happens to a 245 pound guy who does that regularly. Micah himself talked this week about getting beat up, and it's obviously affecting his production. He's not big enough to be used this way all game/season long.

Certainly there are situations where you want him on the edge, but not for 50-60 plays.

A cut block and a chop block are two different things. The rule you posted even makes that distinction. A cut is one-on-one. A chop involves two blockers.

The actual NFL rulebook is like kryptonite to the CONSPIRACY! folks since they need to ignore a good portion of the actual rules to believe their whines are legitimate. So the ignorance here is not surprising since they hardly ever touch the rulebook and just like to repeat, "Goodell bad man."

Exactly.

In the context of getting double and triple teamed...which he is 80% of the time...Micah's been facing chop blocks going at his knees...Combos coming high and low.

That plus grabbing the jersey from behind, double hook blocks, etc.

There was a reason why the Texans paid a huge price to get him, he is an elite LT in this league. I would try to acquire him for a lesser price as they are in the rebuilding stage. Definitely would give up a high pick to land him as he is that good. Think after Trent Williams, he is probably next in this league.

Tunsil is a top 5 LT in the league. Parsons is beat up now. It was DQs mistake to line him up as the RDE most of the time. Parsons is a swiss army knife and DQ seems to be forgetting that. You have move him all over to max his talent.

Yep. It’s all about motion, unpredictability, misdirection, multiple looks, etc. Move Parsons around, just like Cee Dee on offense. Keep ‘em guessing!
