The problem is Cooper was unable to break 1-on-1 coverage all game long. Lattimore shut Cooper down. Our other receivers didn't step up.An accomplished quarterback answered the question here. You go with your 'ace' in single coverage and expect him to make the play.
What more could you expect? Someone running free from less than 10 yards out?

Agreed. Like Kurt Warner stated, you've got to get DBs out of position with WR movement, but strangely there was none all game long. This falls squarely on Kellen Moore and Garrett. They got away from moving our WRs against the Saints like they did the first 3 weeks. I wonder if someone paid them underneath the table to throw away the game? Something was intentionally wrong to be deemed as an acciden . Plus, there were no halftime adjustments whatsoever. Crazy.Cooper undoubtedly struggled, but the offense can't collapse of and when that happens. But the playcalling did him no favors either, lining him up outside all night long to play into Lattimore's strengths. Where were the bunch formations? Where were the plays featuring Cooper in the slot? Where were the passes in the middle of the field? I didn't see any of that.
Agreed. On that first play, Cooper was soft on his route and then just drifting with Lattimore on his hip instead of running after his route was over and it was time for schoolyard ball.

Correct. That game's #2 was Cobb, who didn't come through. I still don't understand what Garrett and Moore were thinking playing Devin Smith (a deep route runner) over someone like Cedrick Wilson who is a short-to-intermediate route runner, especially since the Saints were constantly bringing the heat and covering our mid-to-deep routes well?Michael Gallup's absence was significant. His match up vs Apple favored Dallas but Devin Smith couldn't do it and doesn't have Dak's trust.
Stuff the line, Lattimore takes out Cooper, and the #2 receiver didn't take advantage like Gallup.
Yeah, Dak read the D wrong in that situation. He should have come off the right side immediately and looked at Amari. An accomplished quarterback answered the question here. You go with your 'ace' in single coverage and expect him to make the play.

I think it was game plan related to crowd noise.Agreed. Like Kurt Warner stated, you've got to get DBs out of position with WR movement, but strangely there was none all game long.
