This Oline is playing pretty darn well. I don't care how any grading system shakes out.

Tyler is obviously a strong man but there is an ocean between strong & Allen strong.

Williams is certainly flashing things that could lead to a long, strong career.

I tell you PFF and ESPN say they are poor, I don't see it. Maybe it there grading system that is poor.

Emmitt probably owes at least 2,000 of those yards to Larry Allen and his pulling. Not getting my hopes up because of injury history, but yeah, can’t help but drool thinking about Tyron coming back healthy at LT, and Tyler pulling from LG.

I think that move right there changes the trajectory of our season. Thats how good I think Tyler will be at LG with Tyron next to him. All depends on Tyrons health of course. But with Steele and Martin on the right and Smith and Smith on the left. We can basically run any way we choose.

Yeah, anytime you try to quantify something like this you it has flaws built into it. If the answer it spits out doesn't match what you are seeing on the field, you need to question your formula. This is one of those times.

I will say again, probably 27 teams would trade Olines with us right now no questions asked. On the flip side, I think about 27 D lines would prefer not to face us.

I saw an interview a few years back where they were talking about these grading systems with former player(s). They showed a play where G get's beat initially (outside shoulder) and allows penetration but he recovers enough to shove the defender past the QB and the QB completes the pass. His opinion (& mine) was "Hey, it wasn't pretty but that was a successful rep." Letting the defender beat me to my inside shoulder would have been an instant loss. I made sure that didn't happen. There is no way I should get graded badly. My guy wasn't able to affect the play.

His run penetration is great which is why we have seen a high number of TFLs. It's just holding that edge IMO and a little bit getting off blocks and still holding his ground too. But, that will all hopefully come
He is going to be a force if he can access those traits. What a steal again for McClay, I know it is early but he is not difficult to see replacing our DE Demarcus L soon.

Absolutely love Sam Williams. Man crush since preseason. But he needs to hold his edge better on plays his way. Of course that holds true for all our edge guys so not a huge knock

Sam Williams has been good against the run...and the pass.

I get tired of hearing some say how Sam Williams struggles against the run. What tapes are y'all watching??? Certainly not these.

Sam Williams has been rock solid against both the run and the pass. If anything, Dan Quinn is doing him and this team a disservice by not playing Sam Williams a lot more.

You don’t learn. I told you before. Watch the very first play of your first video. He totally gives up the edge. This is exactly an example of one of the problems with our run defense. And highlight clips show highlights. He’s doing a great job penetrating on pass plays and run plays. He still has a lot to improve on run plays

All that Smith and Williams are going to do over the next three seasons is get better and better. We are merely looking at the tip of the iceberg and I can say that about the entire defense.

Don't worry, with a little more experience, this defense will stop the run.
