Schultz will be a hard guy not to keep and/or a blessing for some other team. His performance last night and the last 2 games were excellent. His support and value to Dak were absolutely exceptional and above the call of duty. He'll get a generous offer, either from us or another team.

Wilson is an UFA so the question is what will it cost Dallas to bring him back as surely there are teams watching the same film and will be wanting to bring him in for a visit and make him a viable offer.
I think we have two must keeps
Wilson and pollard
Wilson is the heart and soul of the secondary
Pollard is one of our top 2 playmakers with lamb
Need these two back
But I don’t see them spending big on Wilson because of the depth there

Can you confirm this? I’m not a hip to the cap situation this offseason
I think they’d love to keep both
I’d love to keep both
Keeping both will require clearing some cap space but we have an easy way to do it though it may not be popular
Cut Zeke which costs 11 mil but clears a ton of money next two years for lamb, Diggs, micah
Get the space to pay for this by extending Dak this off season

Clearing Zeke wouldn’t be enough alone to pay for jsut one of Lamb, Diggs, or Micah.

They’ve been grooming his replacement in Mukuamo the last 2 seasons. Unless he wants to sign a contract with a similar cap hit as Kearse’s (unlikely) I think he’ll be following Quinn to wherever he goes after the season!

One of my favorite players. Dude is always in the picture and not afraid of contact.

It’s around 50 mil over two years
It definitely would
Contracts don’t have big numbers early
Daks contract is a prime example. Hes 19 mil this year. It won’t pay their whole contracts obviously but would clear enough to sign all 3 alone

If Dan Quinn stays, DWilson would be my #1 person to keep.

If Dan goes, then I don't know who the next DC is, and how important that player is to his D.

Why does it always have to be the good ones who are UFA's...why not Dak and Zeke lol

If it was me. Give me LVE, Wilson, tag Pollard cut Zeke, and let Schultz walk.
And for me, if I could get a 1st for him, 10-15 pick and maybe a 2nd or 3rd I would trade Diggs! I like Diggs and I know he shuts down the filed some but his tackling is shameful!

The whole team played well.

You gotta give it up for Hooker, Wilson and Kearse...

I don’t know what it will cost but I feel like we have to bring him back. He’s the only enforcer on the field.
With middle-of-the-pack paid safeties averaging between $6M-$9M/season there is your starting point for Wilson after he just put up a career year in terms of stats.

Factor in Tony Pollard has a current market value that averages $8.5M/year and Dalton Schultz has a current market value that averages $15M/year and Dallas just may be losing valuable players this off-season.

The 2023 NFL salary cap is set at $220M....Dallas currently has 43 players under contract and when factoring in dead money Dallas stands at $214M.

Of course you have guys like Dak, Zeke, Gallup, DLaw, Martin. Tyron Smith who will have contract restructures or releases to create cap room but you also have key free agents like Pollard, Donovan Wilson, Schultz, McGovern, LVE, and Maher (to name main ones) who have to be re-signed or they walk.....and what about free agent signings outside of Dallas? Oh, and you have upcoming contracts for the likes of Lamb, Diggs, and Parsons to prepare for so this will be an interesting off-season in Dallas.

Should be franchised, not Shultz/Pollard.
Franchise tag in 2022 by position:

Safety $12.91M
Running Back $9.57M
Tight End $10.93M

With both Pollard and Schultz expecting contracts that will average more than the franchise tag, and Wilson expecting a contract that will average less than the franchise tag, from a business sense it is smarter to tag Pollard as Wilson would cost you less than the tag and tagging Schultz a second time would cost around $13.1M (still below market value).

Very true. I'm not the biggest Pollard fan but I can get on board franchising him for one season but I want to see them use an early mid round selection on a running back.
