More like fans are just frustrated and fed up with the lack of success when wins are really needed.
Yes a few games to go, we are in the playoffs. But what will happen in the playoffs is what fans are waiting on.
Do they disappoint again, or surprise and make a deep playoff run.
I am not sure if a NFCCG appearance will be enough to satisfy some. But at least get there for once in 28 years. Otherwise just the same old stuff.
It’s way beyond being able to say “see, I was right, they choked again”……which wouldn’t make me personally feel any better.
At this point it’s basically like when the dog barks when the doorbell rings. We know it’s coming. That’s not being negative, it’s called conditioning.
Losses are one thing, but some of these new ways to lose are beginning to make me numb to it all.
From your back being inexplicably spun the wrong way at the goal line…to ‘no problem, we got a first down,’ to a fumble on the next play. Things like that 12 men in the huddle penalty against GB in 2016 that hadn’t been called in a decade that changed the key opening drive, to the Dez thing, and on and on….
Some wise older folks around here have explained in recent years how it just means less to them over time, and it’s just entertainment…don’t expect championships…and I never understood it.
I’m now beginning to get it.
They have gotten to where they are a good team, but the powers that be don’t want to push them over the top, they are more worried about having cap space years from now when the rest of the roster may not be as good.
If Jerry can’t see that and fix it, there isn’t much I can do about it. I’ll never give up, but I can see a point where this becomes much less important in my life.
