Lots of talk about this being a meaningless game so I figured I would go happy medium here and list guys that are banged up and who can sub. If it were me I wouldn't play the guys who are hurting but would start everyone else, at least for the first half.

Bernadeau for Martin, Parnell for Free, Hitchens for Ro Mc, Randle/Dunbar for Murray, and Weeden for Romo.

Out of that list I might let Romo and Murray play the first half but not much more than that, everybody else that's banged up can sit this one out. I'm sure I'm forgetting somebody so who else would you rest?

Oh and Garrett has said there's a chance we can get a bye so u play to win the game, I agree but within reason.

The only way we get a bye is if STL n ARI lose whether we win or lose.

DET n GB won't tie.

I'd let McClain rest his and Murray as well. That'll be a challenge since the single season rushing record is on the line.

Play as if you will get a bye, or even the top seed [not likely] but you play as if you can get 2nd seed. I don't think that is too far fetched.

Just about everyone had us missing the playoffs after T-Day. We win 3 straight, Philly loses 3 straight. I think those odds were less likely to happen then Cards & Seahawks losing Sunday.
Though I did think the 3 wins / 3 loss scenario had a good chance...:D

If Romo plays, then Martin plays and probably Murray.

Correct, Seattle and Arizona both have to lose regardless if we win or lose. So it doesn't matter other than riisking injury to players that we need in the playoffs.

I can't believe in every thread there are still people who think we need to win Sunday if Arizona and Seattle lose. Makes me wonder if the Cowboys brass think that too.

Again, if Seattle and Arizona lose, and we are the 2. We don't have to win.

I feel like a lot of people making the "play the starters" argument are missing this point.

"There’s a playoff scenario with us winning the game that will give us an opportunity to get a first-round bye so we’re going to take advantage of what we can take advantage of,’’ head coach Jason Garrett said.

I can't believe how many know it all's don't know what our head coach said...

There is only a 1/250 chance that a playoff scenario "where us winning" will get us a bye, which is no scenario at all. The odds are 20-50 times greater that a player (s) will be injured or re-injured significantly enough to not play or be less effective in a game that counts next week.

The idea is to keep as many important players out of that risk pool as possible in a meaningless game.

These guys are hot and look to be peaking on both sides of the ball. We gotta continue to ride this hot streak into the playoffs. I hate the thought of injury and Garrett will be slammed if it happens but to rest them and for them to come out cold would be just as bad if not worse.

Martin and McClain are the 2 guys who could use the rest to heal and come back stronger NEXT week given the nature of their injuries. Murray and Romo are basically dealing with pain. A week off is not going to improve their condition as it relates to their particular injuries.

However, my overall approach to this game would be much different than what apparently the Cowboys are taking to this game. Obviously an injury can happen at any point from warm ups tomorrow to the first play of the playoff game next week. So there is no perfect plan. The different opinions are both valid and have been discussed ad nauseum. I'd just prefer to do whatever in my power to make sure I have my key guys healthy for the playoffs. So yes, I would start pulling guys after the first or 2nd series. The key guys if OUT, significantly alter your chances of winning against a playoff opponent. Romo, Tyron(especially with Free's status), Dez, Murray and McClain would not play more than 10-15 plays.

Yes I believe everybody knows this by now, including the head coach. I thought my first post addressed this by saying I'll go happy medium but then the know it all crowd threw in their 2 bits in a condescending fashion. So I responded in kind. Whenever people don't follow the flow of a thread you end up all over the map, and here we are.. lol
