If you haven't caught this mini-series on Showtime yet, I'd say it's worth a look.

It has all the complex character and plot factors to keep you wanting more -- more crime, violence, sex, drugs, and social dysfunction. Ya just gotta love the sheriff and his partners in crime. The acting is exceptional, casting is great, and the screenplay is outstanding, with the actors doing their own fight scenes. The writers keep you guessing, and there are some real badass characters.

I recommend starting from the beginning, on demand.

IT's on Cinemax isn't it? Anyway I love the show been watching since day 1. The action and fighting is really good, the women are hot and sexy and the characters are funny and tough.

You're right - Cinemax.

I've been impressed with how many intense adversity elements they can keep going : Ukranian mafia, Amish psychopath, Indian warrior, seasoned ex-cons, naive law enforcement, and victimized children.

My crazy life seems mundane.

It's a good show. It comes on a bad night for TV, Friday but it is appointment TV for me and my wife. I was bored and just decided watching it when it premiere and watched the first episode and have been ever since. It's quietly getting some pub but not enough IMO.

I didn't think my wife would like it - maybe too brutal - but now she's addicted, too.

Banshee is another name for Wife.

To be more specific, it refers in Irish mythology to a female spirit seen as an omen of death.

For the record, my wife is not quite that bad, but it is an appropriate name for this series.

The term "wailing like a banshee" comes from the proverbial spirit's cries associated with someone's death.
