I know it's still very early to assume, but who thinks Barber should play against the Eagles or sit out one game? Initial reports are saying no fractures, just a bruise. He could take pain medication injections and wear extra padding to help the pain, but the additional padding would be right where Barber holds the ball to run. The Eagles have a pretty good defense this year. Any initial thoughts???

I don't think he needs anything the xray are negitive. This is pro football players will get nicked up all of them if Barber can go then he should play and based off what I have heard so far Barber is fine.

Sit out a game? What are you crazy, lol.

He's playing against the Eagles. The injury is something that will take more than a week to heal so sitting him out one game won't matter.

Shoot him up, give him the extra padding and get him on the field to run over the Eagles defense!

Yup. Barber even said he would have come back in the game and played.

Give him a flackjacket and shoot em up then he will be ready to go

For the record, I hope Barber plays. I was just wondering what everyone else's thought were.

I figure bring Felix and Barber in a two back situation, let marion defend the pass rush, and allow Felix to run the ball. If Barber was the type to avoid contact then I wouldn't worry, but it's almost as if he looks for it!!! :D

If he can play (and no be a liability) then I want him to play. I want the Cowboys to beat up the Eagles defense like they did to the Browns defense. I want a sack fest on defense damnit. Spencer needs to get healthy!

I want them to bury McFlabb! I bet he is feeling really good right now after the Eagles manhandled that high school team.

MB will play and play well. Felix will get more touches and with a better defense than what we saw in Cleveland, we'll see what Felix really brings to the table. We'll be ok.

ps: Philly sucks!

I thought 16 carries was perfect.

Unfortunately, that probably wasn't the plan.

I hate the Eagles too, but they look pretty good. We will need MBIII against them. Newman too.

I'd definitely play him if he can tolerate the pain - which I'm confident he can.

I think the Cowboys will need him against an Eagles defense that will be focused on the passing game.

I think that the Cowboys should make a concerted effort to run the ball down the Eagles' throats and Barber would be a big part of that.

Besides, I think the cartilage damage is something that he'll just have to play through and I don't think a week off would make a difference.

And Spencer, too. Having three rushers is key to us, and Spencer was looking really good before he got hurt.

Barber is key to playing the Eagles and blitz pickup. Rest him against Washington and Green Bay and Cinncy if we have to.

Jones knows where to go in blitz pickup, but he is not holding his position - I am sure he will be working on technique this week in practice.

Exactly. Holding out Barber might lose the one player Dallas can ill afford to lose, Tony Romo. Barber is the Cowboys' best back at blitz pickup. Against the Eagles, MB3 is going to need to bring all his smarts, hostility and inspiration.

Besides holding Barber back one week for an injury that will likely linger all season makes no sense either. This is the type of injury that is mostly pain and that the Barbarian will just have to bear.
