I said heart, determination and talent, which gives Barber his due. Badleelee (I think) said luck, which doesn't. Slight distinction.

Edit: Make than Jimz31. Sorry badleelee.
I said nothing about luck. My bad.

He was trying to make a play and determined not to give Pats two points and loss of possession so he did everything in his power to get out of end zone. In my book this guy is a determined player, so mad props to him.

I think our whole team has heart honestly. Barber is just probably the best example of it.

We got rocked today. But I don't feel like we were ever ready to lay down and take it. We have issues to deal with, but I must say that I really like this team.

Good news for those arguing.

I am not only Talented AND lucky, but I am also sexy.

Well Sexy and Lucky...lucky in the bad luck sense.

:laugh2:

Just a little humor as it is not worth getting all worked up over the thing.

I absolutely love it when Barber does his stiff arm and just WHACKS the defender in the head, he gets really angry when he gets in open field lol.

He had one man to beat for a TD. It would have been the single greatest play in the history of the NFL had he done it.

I love that kid.

he would have indeed took that to the house had he got by that last defender... and it would have indeed been the best play ever in the history of the nfl.

Julius also had his best runs since Seattle in '05 imo.

Hopefully it is a sign to come. Those back to back runs were entertaining that he had.

So a guy who was on the 5 yard line, allowed himself to get backed 10 yards deep into the endzone, is getting revered because he didn't get tackled for a safety?

He should have never been in the endzone in the first play. You can whine all day about heart, if he had gotten tackled in the endzone, he would have been because he's too stubborn for his own good. You want to know why he's not starting, there's your answer. RB's must learn how to go down. 9 times out of 10, thats a safety.

Just because you luck out of one, doesn't mean you should continue to do it, play after play. You take the loss of yards come out for the next play. You don't risk the entire game for some stupid pride.

It was'nt 9 out of 10. It was 1 out of 1. Were not talking about the play itself. It is the way barber never gives up.

was nice woulda been cool if he broke it, barber showed determination early and was really trying to get the cowboys offense going, it worked for a while

jj provided a spark on a big drive also, in the end none if matter because we lost

Exactly.

Heart to me is Emmitt Smith against the Giants when injured.

To call Barbers play heart....:laugh2:

This is a good point. He should have never been in the endzone anyway. He immediately tried to break the run to the outside instead of bulling his way up the middle to give the team a little breathing room. He wouldn't have been knocked backwards to begin with. But that's his style. He breaks almost everything to the outside even when the smart play is not to go there.

Having said that, there is no question that Barber runs with determination, enthusiasm and attitude. He was both lucky and determined enough to avoid the safety.
