I don't know about you guys, but Barber and Felix need to be on the field at the same time. I thought I remember hearing in TC that they liked the pro set with barber and Jones in the backfield. I haven't seen it yet. Are we not playing them together intentionally to save it for regular season?

They will have packages together no doubt.

And yes they have worked on them in practice... Just not a pre season "game".

I think the coaches decided not to show ALL our plays just yet..........

Correctimundo! They are not putting Barber and Felix in the backfield for a reason. They're trying to be vanilla during preseason, not giving the teams we play in the regular season, especially the first few teams that we see on the schedule any kind of film.

No worries, Garrett will open up the playbook soon enough. And you can count on Barber and Felix being in the backfield, together! Or at least on the field together.

yeah, it just seems like now that I've seen Felix in action, the combo could cause alot of problems for defenses.

I think there are some problems, too. Who blocks for whom?

My guess is Barber plays more a FB role when they decide to run from a standard pro set.

I think the main thing is to try and get some mismatches in the passing game by splitting Felix out wide which should simultaneously open up the middle for Barber's power running game.

There are several Jones/Barber packages being installed in this offense, and one in particular that stands out, is Felix motioning wide, which will create some headaches for the D.
Believe me, nothing is being revealed so far in pre-season, nothing.
Just go to your local Baskin Robins and order up a double dip of vanilla, cause we got two more weeks of that flavor.
Most are anticipating a glimpse of the "real" Cowboys next week in game 3 against the Texans, but just a word of caution, head your expectations, and appreciate patience.
