I don't see it, but I am loving the success he is having.
Ricky Watters is the best comparison I've seen yet for MB3.

bettis is one of the better backs ever to play the game, when he was younger that guy could pull some insane moves for a guy his size. He was more elusive than barber and seemed more likely to juke a guy than to run over him. Barber seems to love to lower his shoulders and try to run over people, which bettis could and would do but not quite the same to me.

He kind of reminds me of another Barber as in Tiki. I think MB has better moves that Bettis and is faster than Bettis.

I actually think he is more like Rudi Johnson than anyone else only probably a better reciever.

Jim Brown... yeah I said it. Straight ahead no nonsense kinda guy, that has the moves to make the first guy miss. Barber is sneaky fast, and might not be a homerun threat like JJ - but the way Julius has been playing Hank Aaron's record is very safe.

Barber reminds me of a better Troy Hambrick.

Excellent 3rd down back. Great ypg as a backup. Slams DL's in crunch time.

But not a starter.

Did anyone see MB3's stiff arm in the fourth as he was running to about the 7 or so. He ran with power and aggression. Actually, it really wasn't a stiff arm, he swung at the guy. I was and am impressed with his toughness and drive. He needs more carries.

Oh, and the Cowboys need to get JJ running to the outside. He's pretty useless running up the middle unless the whole is so big an elephant could run through it. But, outside in space, he's dangerous.

Barber is a BEAST when it comes to gaining tough yards, if he had the speed to go with it you could kiss Julius Jones good bye!

Emmitt was only a 4.5 40 guy, speed is not what makes a great back in my mind. Barber has enough speed to do the job and break some long runs. Duriblity may be an issue just for the simple fact he has not had to carry the entire load be it in Minn where he shared playing time and now in the pros.

I don't see any durability problems with MB3. The guy is built to sustain and deliver poundings. I am not sure he's a 30 carry back but 22-25 pg should do the trick nicely. I would bet he would be a consistent 1200 yrd back and add in another 300-400 yrds in receiving. He might not need to come out of the game much, save for a series or two.

I think he's the real deal. JJ has a role on this team if he wants one but it should not be as starting RB.

He actually runs harder than Bettis. Bettis never shied away from contact but Barber runs like someone slapped his mom. At first I just dismissed it, but the last few weeks have changed all that. He is a monster.

Evidently Bill does not see that. Barber shared the load in college and to expect him to carry it at this level and be productive over the course of the season may be asking more than what he can give.

Why Watters? Watters wasn't known for being physical, defensive players looked forward to hitting Rickey Watters. He was also a proven receiver and was great at gaining YAC. He was ideal for the WCO, kind of like a more durable DeShaun Foster.

Barber's his own beast. I don't know if he reminds me of anyone.

OK, I'm dating myself with this comparison, but who cares? I'll tell you who he reminds me of with his running style, (I know I'll catch flak for this but here goes)...Larry Brown, the former great Skins RB.

I never liked the guy because he was a Commander and because he was a Cowboy killer but the guy ran with such passion, heart and ability that I couldn't help but find myself wishing he played for us.

MB3 reminds me a lot of him.

This play is what makes MB3 a favorite of the fans. You can see his hunger and desire on that play. When I saw that play, i jumped off my chair. Like a previous poster said, MB3 is our Irvin.
