Should he go to jail for using steroids and lying about it? I don't think so. He should be punished, but i just can't see it as worthy of jail time. I would say he should be punished by having his records stripped by MLB; however, MLB never really cared about Bonds or anyone else using steroids, so why should I. The whole thing is a farce and has been for years going on decades now.

How is it a waste?

The guy lied under oath.

If prosecuting him isn't a reasonable use of resources than there is no such thing.

they couldn't even prove he lied under oath

total waste of resources.

In the end, since MLB didn't care enough about steroid use to have testing, why should anyone else care?

No

and lying about it?

Under oath, yes. Absolutely yes.

I agree that the MLB should just erase his numbers. He shouldn't be in any record books, not even with an asterisk.

Which is a complete sham. Him saying he didn't know what he was being given is about as believable as unicorns and leprechauns.

Before there was really any evidence that Bonds was a PED user, he was one of the league's better players. It's not like the PEDs MADE him good. He was already good, they just made him better. Not to excuse Bonds, but I feel like he became a PED user in response to lesser players like Sosa and Mark McGwire performing at the levels they did with the aid of PEDs. He was naturally a better player than those types and with the PEDs he outperformed them as well.

Isn't that what they are supposed to do?

I don't think anyone believes they are performance creating drugs.

Dude's a sham.

Side note:

Anyone know anything about Aaron's use?

9.) Aaron hit 40 home runs with 96 RBIs and a .301 batting average in 1973 as a 39-year-old in his 20th professional season. In his autobiography “I Had a Hammer,” written with Lonnie Wheeler in 1991, Aaron admits to having experimented with “greenies” (amphetamines) while suffering through a rough stretch at the plate in 1968.

Greenies aren't going to alter your body like PEDs.

No, they sure won't. Still they can give a player a benefit over another player who doesn't take them. I didn't know Aaron experimented with them until CCF mentioned it in this thread and I did a quick google search.

I hope Barry Bonds beats this case.

He is probably guilty of most of the things he is accused of but others cheated, lied in front of Congress and yet this guy is the only one facing any real jail time.

The media hated this guy because he was known to be a huge ****** and that was really what fueled most of this.

He lied under oath just like Clemens who's day in court is coming. They both deserve jail time.
