Twitter: Barry Church update

Getting Church back for the Vikings game could be huge. But what about Mo? What's his status?

Definitely. Always could use more depth in our already depleted secondary.

Though I should say Wilcox has stepped in nicely for Church

Very true and it might play a prominent role in why he wants to make his return so soon.

Barry's no dummy. He sees what's happening and is antsy to reclaim his starting job. ;)

I agree Wilcox is playing better than he has in the last three seasons.
You up early again Bull, how did you like the game? I watched both the Skins and Vikings play yesterday looks like this is going to be a battle.

I'm always falling asleep on the couch and waking up about 1 a.m. or 2 (or 3) in the morn, wide awake. After that, it's time to get with The Zone.

I got pretty nervous in the first half, then in the 2nd half, got as giddy as a schoolgirl -- lol. Went to a family get-together and we were all loving what was happening as we wore them down, little by little, 'til they crumbled. Dak, Dez and Zeke were awesome. The whole offense also, actually.

You're right about the Skins looking like a threat for our Thanksgiving Day battle but this bunch just keeps on winning with each and every successive team we play. They all look like threats 'til we wear 'em down in the 2nd half. It's fun watching it happen. This team is really a blast to watch. Haven't enjoyed Da Boys this much in ages. Gotta love it.

We need Church back badly. Wilcox is just plain a liability back there. Sure, he can lay some licks here and there, but the mid-backfield is now just a turnstile without Church.

I really enjoyed the game on Sunday and knew what was coming to the Ravens in the second half, the boys demand playing four quarters of near perfect defense. This Thursday will be last man standing battle, bodies were not meant to play this caliber of football on three days rest. Looks like the Skins appear to be less fat and more gristle than anyone imagined, I expect a real NFC east battle. Anthony Brown is really looking good for a rookie, we may have real impact player with this guy. He will be tested with this Commander receiver group.

Here is how the home team newspaper saw the game, very complimentary for the cowboys.

Anthony Brown has been a savior, what with Mo Claiborne being injured and all. He had quite a battle with Steve Smith today and fared pretty well for a rookie. Smith is a real nutcase and did his usual BS trash talking that's way over the top with personal insults, even extending to family members and all. He sure didn't make a friend in A. Brown.

I'm looking forward to both the Skins and the Vikes. It's obvious now that we're capable of beating anyone in our path if we continue to play our game. There's enough film on us now that the Commanders should have a good idea what to watch for. It looks like another division dogfight for sure.

Kirk Cousins looks to have his mojo working for him as much as ever, so our defense will have its hands full, no doubt. Of course that's what I thought about the Ravens and we saw how that turned out. Bring 'em on -- pretty confident we'll clobber 'em in the end! :)

Thanks -- nice write up by their journalist. High praise for the Cowboys, indeed. They definitely deserved it.

I'm not at all sure Romo could have withstood the Ravens' pass rushing attack in the 1st half. Dak took about five hard hits, as I got worried he might not get up at times. He's a tough cookie, though and pretty durable as well. It's obviously a good thing.

Saw something on NFL Network Sun. night that he had a bone chip on his hip in addition to the groin thing, so, I'm not sure what that meant in terms of his possible return or when it might happen. Guess we'll see what gives as further medical reports come in.

This could be HUGE!

As much as I enjoy watching Wilcox light people up, I cringe every time he whiffs or takes a bad angle. He's like a dog chasing squirrels in the park; he is all over the place but nowhere.

Church may be a slightly above-average safety but he knows how to play well within the scheme, is a decent tackler, and he seems to know where to position himself for potential interceptions.

I still hope the Cowboys draft his replacement in April 2017

Agree.

Cowboys need a replacement period at safety next year. Wilcox too inconsistent . Church is good but need upgrade.

Church somehow catalyzes the backfield. He seems really well paired with Jones & we are a better team when he plays.

I wonder how they can start subbing more for Scandrick, I assume that he is still has not recovered given how incredibly tentative he has been recently.

No need..

Wilcox is finally starting to play like the player we hoped.

He's still iffy at times with open field tackling but he has punished guys after the catch.
Catch - he's given us his best RW31 impression as of late. I guarantee you D-Jax, Reed and Garcon will be peeking over their shoulder if they go over the middle. I wonder if Steve Smith Sr. went thru concussion protocol?

Agreed Zimmy. What safeties in college are worthy of our 32nd overall pick? ;)

People who continue to complain about our safety play are insufferable. Church, Jones, and Wilcox are all playing lights out and are just about the only reason opposing quarterbacks haven't been able to light us up like they have for the past 8 years. Solid, consistent play from our safeties this season has this squad thinking deep playoff run and not looking up at the Giants.
