Bart Scott: "Dak Prescott hasn't even reached Alex Smith's level"

This seems to be the normal narrative. Nobody ever gives anybody in Dallas good credit. I get it. Dallas hasn't proved many critics wrong the last couple decades, but still, seems to just be the chic thing to do in the media, hate on the Cowboys.

If he wants to make this comparison. That’s fine.

Let’s be accurate about it though.

Alex Smith was trash early in his career. He was absolutely terrible.

Alex Smith improved and got better as his career went on. This improvement didn’t really happen until he was in the league for like 5 or 6 years.

Dak’s level of play during his first 3 seasons. Was similar to Alex smith’s Level of play after he was in the league for like 6+ plus seasons and made dramatic
Improvements during that time.

So if he wants to compare Dak to Alex Smith, that’s fine. But if he was being honest about it. He would point out that Dak as a rookie/young player was playing as good as Alex Smith when Alex was at his peak after years and years of league experience.
I've always wondered how Rodgers would've turned out if he had to deal with the turmoil that was the niners back then. Then how Smith may have been if he sat in Greenbay.

Nah, let him keep losing to them. My neighbor down the street will be in pain. :lmao2:

He is an UM fan, me OSU. His 2 sons, one UM, the other OSU. His 2 sons went to high school with Jim Tressel's kids. So imagine that when he was named HC for OSU.

I'm an OSU alum. I was a student when Harbaugh was playing for UM, so every beatdown he takes up there is fine with me.

Dak is fine, but this is fake news.

I think they meant to say this:

Prescott has been the source of 14 game-winning drives during the regular season — defined by Pro Football Reference as an offensive scoring drive in the fourth quarter or overtime that puts the winning team ahead for the last time — in his three seasons as a pro. That’s more than Drew Brees or Matthew Stafford, who clock in with a tie for second place, have had in the same time frame (aka, since Dak entered the league).

Per Google, just off stats.
Smith has a 168-96 record, Prescott is...51-33.

Obviously he’s not talking about Alex during his bad years at SF. Career stats won’t value what he means Alex at his peak prior to injury is better than Dak today, is his point. Maybe Dak develops into his 30’s like Alex did. But Dak today vs healthy Alex today

Nothing but facts spoken from an elite NFL defender in this short clip. Dak is a 20M/yr QB MAX.

..........

that unless Zeke has over 75 yards we are NOT winning the game!
That pretty much sums up Lemon Prescott.....

Go ahead and spout drivel and argue about Dak's merits as the cowboys QB, it's fine really.. I will just sit here and relish in the fact that he is my favorite player on the team and will be our leader for years to come.

Taking Smith's top three years for yardage and he comes in at 11,030 yards(Prescott has 10,876). Do the same for touchdowns and Smith is at 69 TD passes(Prescott has 67). Prescott now is essentially Smith at his best. Hopefully Prescott improves.

He has the highest completion ever by any QB in his first three years.....

He has the highest 4th quarter comebacks than any other QB

Dude was a rookie and brought his team back from 17 points in his first playoff game.

The dudes a winner. That alone can't be disputed

FACTS!!!!

His absolute best season.

Smith tallied

27 TD
5 INT
4000 Yards passing

In daks rookie season

He tallied

29 TD
3 INT
3700 passing yards

He completed a higher percentage
He scored more TD
He had a higher Passer Rating
He led his team to 4 more wins.

All in his first year, as a 4th rounder compared to a veteran who was the number one overall pick.

You can take smiths 3 top passing TD seasons(only passing so daks 6 per don’t give him that unfair advantage) and they add up to 69 passing TD.
Dak has 67 just in his first three seasons.
