Base D vs. Falcon no huddle

Watching the Falcons game last night it seemed the no huddle was their best matchup against the bears. Bears tried multiple formations against it, in order to slow it down. If the Bears blitzed Ryan, he found the hot read and if they zoned he would find the soft spot. Sensabaugh should be the key to our success. When Atlanta was in the no huddle they used 3WR and a TE (Gonzalez). They would run wham plays to the middle with Gonzo in motion and leading Turner. Norwood would hit sweeps and off tackle runs and Ryan looked to the backs for a lot of check downs. If Sensabaugh can cover Gonzalez and maintain run support, within the base D, Dallas can manage this offense. It seems this would be the best approach to me, similar to last years GB defensive look, but with a Sensabaugh being the X-factor.

I would consider putting scandrick on gonzalez, and remove him from the passing game. Scandrick would be excellent to shut down the passes to him. That would open up the deep pass, but an effective pass rush is vital, there is simply no way Dallas will cover intermediate and deep throws with Matt Ryan comfortably sitting in the pocket. If it takes a goal line all out type blitz to get to Ryan, it must happen, even if we get burned a few times.

The bye week feels like a mini-offseason, I'm looking forward to the Falcons!

There is no possible way to understate how great a player Tony G is. Having watched his entire career here in KC, this guy was constantly great especially considering who he played for. He is the key. If we can slow him down and at the same time keep contain on the outside runs we will be OK. We also better be careful not to be looking in the backfield too much because they do have a big play deep threat.

This will be a good tests for us. I believe we will pass. I expect a big day from our defense. Time for them to put a complete game together and get the ball rolling. Build some confidence and identity. Brooking is going to be a key player for us, because of his potential match-ups with Tony G.

The key is for the OFFENSE to sustain long drives and score touchdowns. It give D time to rest against Atlanta's O. Rested D will be able to hold it's own. But if our O keeps going 3 and out then the D is in trouble.
