In hindsight, Eagles president Joe Banner probably wishes that he hadn't boasted about the quality of the team's pre-camp roster, with the fate-tempting qualifier "assuming everyone is healthy and standing at the end."

The Eagles have since had the most serious and potentially serious injuries of any NFL team.

The latest guy to take a ride on a cart not used for hauling golf clubs? Receiver Hank Baskett, per Sheil Kapadia of philly.com.

Kapadia has tweeted that Baskett went down with an injury, grabbed his knee, wanted to the tent with trainer Rick Burkholder, and then rode off in the front seat of a cart.

It's all about health/injuries. It really is.

Now the Eagle fans get to experience the frustrstion of being everyone's pre-season darlings only to have it all derailed by injuries.

We can sit here and debate the cause of our disappointing 2008 season forever.
It was Wade's fault, no Garrett. We had no cohesion, no discipline, no heart. And of course all these short-comings to some extent revolved around Owens.

Our failings in 2008 were the direct result of the injuries we sustained. The injuries lead to weaker performance and losses. The losses lead to turmoil and dissention in the ranks. The termoil and dissention lead to more losses.
