Bold Prediction: Stick with me on this one: Sam Williams has a 10-sack season, and not just because he set that as his goal for 2023, but because he's already capable of it — based upon the efficiency of his production as a rookie in 2022. Williams rushes the passer like a bull in a china shop, and I wholeheartedly believe he has a breakout season if given enough reps to do so.

Key Stat: The pass rush in Dallas amassed 54 sacks last season, third-most in the NFL and only one sack away from being tied with the 49ers (55) for second place behind the Eagles. The team's EDGE rush unit also produced 10 of the team's 22 total forced fumbles, as the Cowboys defense finished with the highest tally of both forced fumbles, fumble recoveries (17) and fumbles recovered for touchdown (3) in the entire league.

There is some talent here, can they be even better? With the addition of Gilmore it may give that extra second of coverage, so they DL can get better pressure to the QB.
If LB play improves as well.
Far and away the best unit on the team with actual NFL talent depth.

It's my primary reason for watching this year.

I came here for the explosive wars and left without even seeing a dust up.
And there shouldn’t be.

The same defense that held the Niners to 310 total yards and 19 points will be even better with the addition of Gilmore and Mazi

absolutely no reason for us to criticize the one unit that has been great

Special Teams and Offense are the ones that need to step up.

If Steel doenst miss any games and if Tyron doenst get hurt between now and then.
You have no idea how Waletzko is going to play. You might want to watch camp and preseason before saying this.

I might want to wait, however, I feel confident that a 4th round OT that missed his entire first year is not going to come in and dominate the NFL or make a big difference. If he does get in there, he will get kicked around on his way to learning how to be an NFL Olineman. NO different than Biadasz, or Connor Williams, or Connor McGovern. Only guys that come in here are are good from day #1 are the first rounders.

Lets hope and pray that I am completely wrong on this.

First I’m going to hope and pray that Waletzko doesn’t have to see the field other than ST.

I can see us using some 3-4 with Osa-Mazi-DLaw, Sam at OLB and Micah coming from either OLB, or even inside.

OUCH!!

I dont that one happening. I bet they will need him often and early.
I think we both agree the OL is key, and if we can somehow catch a break and get those best five on the field together more often than not, we can be ok.

It’s not overly realistic, but I’ve learned to rely on hope. Never said it was a sound plan lol.

I would love to see the defense dominate. Where it wasn’t necessary for the office to get big numbers
I think that can happen and that Mike sees it’s the best chance to win.

Running game, clock management, defense.

Sorry that we are overpaying the QB in that case but get over it already (not you in particular, just generally lol)

We have as good a shot as anyone, just have to actually go and do it.

What are the chances of those 5 being 100% and being on the field together for more than a few games?

Its gotta be somewhere around 30-40%. Tyron lasting all 17 games and the playoffs? 5%
