I wonder who Baylor will try and hire? Would have to be somebody who doesn't create drama. Singletary will be the first thought for a lot of casual fans I'd guess but who knows if he would do it or if the Bears would want to go that direction. Herman is wanted by everybody (sorry Woodrow) but he just signed a contract not all that long ago. You know, and I don't know that he would do it, but Mac Brown might be a good hire for them. He has the contacts, he has the reputation and he has the clean background that the Baylor Football Program will likely want.

That would be interesting.

Word is Phill Bennett from DC to Interim HC and Art's son staying on staff.

Personally I think they should get rid of the whole staff and start from scratch.

I think so too BP but I suspect they are trying to hold on to recruits and this is probably the way they think gives them the best chance to do it. Personally, I think they are going to lose most of them, if not all.

All of the coaching staff knew what was going on. Really no way to get around that.

I think they were testing the waters with the rumor being leaked about Starr getting the axe to see if they could keep Briles. I think they heard that too many people thought that Briles should be canned as well and acted. Of course that is all speculation on my part but I think it is feasible.

I've said this on Twitter since this morning. They leaked the Starr info to gauge response. Once the outrage matched what they had in the investigative report they had to do it. Glad that guy is gone.

Not sure how you do this with a Briles still on staff. On top of that the report linked not just Briles but the "coaching staff" to the cover up and shaming of the victims. I'm assuming there may be legal/contracts to work out before the can announce they are gone too. No way to keep the same guys who were part of this in my book.

Probably trying to run a program and maintain continuity until a new coach is selected. He'll bring in his own guys at that point. If these guys are smart, they'll try to get the stink off of themselves and jump ship ASAP. It will give them a better chance to find a job somewhere else.

This program will be taking on water..... Every man for himself.

SMH at these guys thinking they're going to cover this stuff up forever...... particularly sexual assault. Helloooo.... other people are involved.....

Someone needs to introduce coaches and AD's to these two game-changers: "social media and cell phones".

Can anybody please give a rundown of what happened here as far as the sexual assaults go? I haven't really been paying attention and I can't trust the media to accurately state the facts. Not for or against Baylor, just curious to see what the actual facts are.

Thanks in advance.

Was reading a breakdown of all the offenses that have happened in the last 5 years...some not reported by the media. You could literally write a book...there are that many offenses.:(

Yes. It's not a case of even 1 or 2 players. And it's not even a case of a player being accused and letting the player play until all of the evidence comes forward.

This is a rampant problem with the football team and everybody involved is to blame. I do tend to put more of a focus on the administration over Briles though. After watching that 30 for 30 on the Duke Lacrosse scandal, you never know how the school leads these things.

So, why did the victims just not go to the police? Or did they?

a lot of times campus police has jurisdiction in those cases, which when it comes to sexual assault, too many campus police units have shown that they do not take the crimes seriously.

Personally, I wish someone would introduce them to morality, decency and ethics.

Unfortunately, they don't get paid for those things. They get paid to win; and when the guy at the other program has better players, they usually don't.

Their motto is "Pro Ecclesia, Pro Texana" (For Church, For Texas). I don't know the situation at Baylor well enough to know if they've sold their soul to get fame and fortune, but it certainly looks that way. Now would be good time for the Administration to determine what kind of school they want to be.

The Longhorns should benefit greatly from all the Baylor decommitments.

I actually think aTm is going to be the benefactor or this situation. Hezekiah Jones is said to be leaning towards A&M, same with Kedrick James. Marvin Jones, who was said to be considering Baylor heavily, this weekend 247 had an article that named A&M as one of his top 5.

Aggies have been a dumpster fire for recruiting of late but this might be huge boost for Sumilin and A&M.
