Went to my son's ROTC Ball tonight at Baylor University, and loved it. Such great kids, all of them. They are going to make fine officers. My son gets commissioned in less than 3 weeks. The Brigadier General who spoke was in charge of the rescue operations at West, TX(he's from there) after the explosion last week, and his wife is a teacher at the elementary school that got destroyed. Very inspiring speech, and he and his wife were very nice people. I left feeling so proud of of all of them. Sometimes I feel like this country is going to heck in a hand basket, but after seeing and meeting with all these kids, I think everything is going to be alright.
