I love looking at the BCS computer rankings and comparing them to the human polls - as well as to each other. Here are a couple interesting observations:

1) OSU is near unanimous #1 (and no I'm not talking about Ohio State :D). One single computer has them at #2 behind LSU.

2) The computers have much more love for K-State than the humans do. Computer average has them at 5 but the human beings put them at 11.

3) The computers really don't like Wisconsin. The average for them is 24, compared to 11.5 from the human polls. But my favorite observation is...

4) Two computers have Houston at #9. And then two other computers don't even have them ranked in the top 25 at all! Crazy Cougars! :D :D

It isn't just Wisconsin, the computers do not like the Big 10. Check out the rankings for each conference, Michigan State is best in the Big 10 at 15 but is behind the Big 12's 4th team and tied with the SEC's 5th team.

Big 12
1 Oklahoma State
6 Kansas State
7 Oklahoma
11 Texas A&M
18 Texas Tech
20 Texas

SEC
2 Alabama
3 LSU
8 Arkansas
13 South Carolina
15 Auburn
22 Georgia

Big 10
15 Michigan State
17 Penn State
19 Michigan
21 Nebraska
24 Wisconsin

You can program computers to like any team or conference. There is still the human factor because humans decide what set of data is of more importance for the computers to calculate and rank.

well i saw the new rankings and i didnt like them. I have issues with OU only falling 6 spots, while Wisconsin fell 9.

#3 OU was at home, winners of 39 straight, playing an unranked TT team. OU was a huge favorite, 29 1/2, and lost the game. Yes the score was close, but those that saw the game know that they were absolutely dominated for most of it.

Meanwhile, #6 Wisconsin was on the road, facing #16 Michigan St. Wisconsin was favored by 7. They lost by 6 on a last second Hail Mary, where the ball barely crossed the goal line.

Both teams have pretty much owned all their previous opponents, so that is a wash. Wisconsin massacred a top 10 team, Nebraska (hasn't lost since). OU massacred a top 12 Texas (lost the following week to Okie St.)...slight edge Wisconsin.

My point is, it is not justified to drop Wisconsin 9 spots for losing a road game on a last second hail mary to a top 20 team, while only dropping OU only 6 spots when they lost at home to an unranked team.

My top 10 would be LSU, Alabama, Okie St., Stanford, Clemson, Potato St., Oregon, KSU, Arkansas, and Michigan St.

BTW, I would not have Wisconsin below Nebraska. Wisconsin destroyed Nebraska. But I can see why they did that. Nebraska lost to #8 Wisconsin in Wisconsin, while #6 Wisconsin lost to #16 Michigan St. I guess they did it based on the rankings. Still, I would flip the two and have Wisconsin 1 spot above the Huskers.

Also, my Horns do not deserve to be in the top 25 of any poll. They did prior to the OU game, but since, they have proven they are not worthy right now. They need to win a few more games without losing before the pollsters should even think about having them sniff the top 25.....HOOK EM
