Be careful making TO the scapegoat for an underachieving OL

For the kind of passing game Jason Garrett wants...the OL MUST PLAY AT A HIGHER LEVEL. Now whether or not that is the best passing scheme to win against good defenses is a subject for another debate. But there are so many guys that underachieved this year....we need to FORCE THEM TO PLAY BETTER. I am talking to you Flo...I am talking to you Gurode...I am talking to you Leonard Davis...I am talking to you Ken Hamlin...I am talking to you Deon Anderson...I am talking to you Bobby Carpenter....I am talking to you Pat Watkins.

And coaches...I am talking to you Garrett...I am talking to you Hudson Houck. Everyone got paid....especially those guys I just mentioned. And right now the spotlight is on TO....as if he was holding Garrett back from calling a good game. Or as if he was the reason the OL turned in such a dismal performance. Or as if he forced Keith Hamlin to play like an undrafted rookie free agent.

I am NOT an Owens apologist. But if a fire is not lit under some other butts around Valley Ranch....TO or no TO will NOT matter!

That is the biggest question mark of the entire team. Early in the year when we had great protection, Romo picked teams apart. Then.....

Some of that is on Romo. Some on Garrett and his play calling. Some on the WRs not running proper routes and just getting open. But a lot of it is on the OL. Losing Kosier is not an excuse for the entire line to fall apart. Flo getting hurt is not an excuse either. Where are their replacements? Where is an offense that can execute anyway?

The Browns game was masterful.

Fix the Oline so that we can have a consistently reliable running attack to take the pressure off of Romo and all the other problems that have so many people wringing their hands around here were vanish into thin air.

Problem is that I'm not sure how to go about doing that with our current cast of players and their contracts.

An offseason can do wonders.

the oline is only as strong as its weakest link... with the multitude of problems u can only blame the man in charge!

My thoughts exactly our OL gave our QBs no time at all, every week for a while I always said why doesn't gARRETT use max protect once in a while, but he never did.......I just think with all this talent Garrett is not a genius as some thought he was..... granted I think he might be able to conjure up some great plays, but without a scheme it's all for not.............

Like deion said, if the dline just rush with four and keep it basic, the cowboys line will kill them. The problem comes when they zone blitz and blitz in general. The Browns had a basic pas rush so they blocked them good but pitts, eagles, baltimore have exotic blitz packages and our oline forgets who to block. It's not physical it's mental.

This post should be stickied and put in bold. That OL was the biggest disappointment when kosier went down. With that said, ratings wise, kosiers healing process isn't gonna make news during the nfc afc championships.

The problem most have with TO, has nothing to do with how other players play.

Some of it is on the scheme in general, though.

When's the last time you've seen Romo actually hit a hot read when an opponent blitzed? I can't recall too many moments off the top of my head.

This team needs to get the backs more involved in the passing game than they have been...at least in those situations.

My feelings exactly the games we played against lesser front 7s our offense put up good numbers, the games the Oline struggled to protect Romo we didnt score much and had twice as many turnovers.

All this talk about TO's route running is hilarious, he is running his routes the same way he had the 2 previous seasons. The problem was plays werent getting the timed they needed to develop.

For the kind of passing game Jason Garrett wants... the qb also has to make better decisions and throw more accurate passes.

For the kind of passing game Jason Garrett wants... more than one receiver needs to be able to get open on any given play and give the quarterback options because if he's playing a shaky OLine, then it just makes matters worse...

I want players on the Cowboys who man up when the ship is taking on water. I don't want eratic, self-promoting, divisive players, or divas like Terrell Owens throwing coaches and players overboard when the ship is in trouble and taking on water.

I don't want players like Owens leading a "take over" of the ship while tossing Garrett, Romo, and Witten overboard.

I want winners and players taking responsibility for their play, not players like Owens who point fingers and turn teammates on one another.

iOwens

i pretty much defines him

I never saw Terrell Owens sitting on the sidelines pouting while the Cowboys were winning. That never happened.
