Be honest, after the first 4 plays against the Rams, what were you thinking?

A reminder about the first 4 plays of the game:
  • 1st & 10 at DAL 25

    (15:00 - 1st) (Shotgun) D.Prescott sacked at DAL 20 for -5 yards (M.Hoecht).
  • 2nd & 15 at DAL 20

    (14:29 - 1st) (Shotgun) T.Pollard up the middle to DAL 24 for 4 yards (B.Young).
  • 3rd & 11 at DAL 24

    (13:46 - 1st) (Shotgun) D.Prescott sacked at DAL 20 for -4 yards (B.Young). PENALTY on LA-Q.Lake, Illegal Contact, 6 yards, enforced at DAL 24 - No Play.
  • 1st & 10 at DAL 30

    (13:23 - 1st) D.Prescott sacked at DAL 23 for -7 yards (A.Donald).

I was thinking the game was going to be ugly:

3 pass plays, 3 sacks.
This is ugly so far.

And not one of those sacks were "coverage sacks". The OLine was getting abused out there.

Yet somehow after those first 4 plays, Dak kept slinging it around, to his Top-3 WRs, Lamb, Gallup, Cooks, and all converting 1st Downs. That was until one of the TEs ACTUALLY held on to a pass for a TD.

I never would have guessed a blowout win after seeing how bad it looked after the first 4 plays.

But that is why you play the games.

Our Oline needs to step it up from the very first play. Out interior Oline needs to anchor down, while our edges need to keep Dak protected long enough from edge rushers. Give Dak 3 seconds on average, he will carve you up. Need our WRs to get open early and often as well. A big plus would be to get the running game going even if it's outside running. If it struggles, get back to the pass. Allow the pass to open up the run. That Eagles front 7 is good. Use their strength against them. Our Oline needs to take it to them and beat them at the line of scrimmage. That will be key.

Just goes to show you how big of a difference a single play/call can make. If Dallas doesn’t get a lucky break on third down I think the game goes a lot differently. Snowball effect
Get ready for this to be downplayed like it was nothing and how Greg Olsen hates us. Lol.

Tbh, I was really getting worried about Dak's health. I was concerned he wasn't going to make it through the game.

Agreed 100%. If not for that penalty, we go three and out and punt. If the Rams managed to scored again on their next drive, i think that game turns into a slugfest. I think we still win, but the mood around here would be a whole lot different.

I was thinking this game will end at a score never seen before by the NFL with the Cowboys scoring 43 points and the Rams 20.

Was dead on.

Didn't know what to think lol. Was an impressive showing.

I don't react to what happens early on in situations like that. To me, it would be akin to most of the jokers at 105.3 who make game-to-game evaluations and apply them to the season. Most of those guys are simply parroting what the fans on here say. It's sad really.

By the way, look how open the WR was on that first sack...we're finally getting our guys open. No more curl routes, etc.

Possibly. But the way all phases took over the game, I'm not sure.

I thought the defense would need to win this game with some big turnovers. I thought the offense was going to struggle to do anything.
