There’s just too many distractions. I can’t remember when so much news related to this team is not about football. Just so much about contracts, Martin’s back, Quinn suspended, no Zeke, Cooper has planter Fasciatis, front office leaking stuff to media to try and gain upper hand in negotiating. Everyone should be focused on football and they’re not.

Seems like a toxic environment. Expect 8-8/ 9-7. This team has proven over and over it doesn’t do well with high expectations. The one positive I guess is Garrett will be fired.

Sounds like every other year as a Cowboy fan lol. Last year didn't have its "Toxic environment"?

No this has been terrible. All these players focus is on money. There’s 4 key injuries too. Jones hasn’t practiced, Lawrence, Martin and Coopers foot. It’s all leading to a big let down. Dirty negotiating tactics by the Joneses.

Well luckily the media has zero to do with what happens on the field and they never will. Man, this board is completely unreadable these days.

The players don't care about blog posts and rumor tweets, they are trying to get their reps in and not get hurt in the preseason.

If Zeke holds out into the season then I'll change my tune.

The injuries shouldn't bother you. The Jones/Garrett philosophy of training camp is one of total bubble wrap. Any little boo boo and a good vet gets to sit out. These guys will probably all be just fine for the Giants.

Quit being a pessimist_cowboy fan.

I agree unfortunatly....too much going on with these stupid contracts...they should have handled earlier

Yep, hafta agree as well. And not just the contracts, all of it.

It all depends on how many of these things work out by game #1. Still, the continuity wont be there that is for sure. If the Oline is 100% healthy, I think we can win our first couple of games, even without Zeke. But certainly Cooper must play and Lawrence has to be ready to go.

Sadly, I don't think Garrett will be fired no matter what happens.

This team will go as far as Dak can take them.

The roster is in place.

If they can get these distractions in order.

Everyone is under contact and will show up to play at some point before the first game. I don't believe Zeke will hold out beyond camp. If the Cowboys have a mediocre season, it simply means they are mediocre and need to start rebuilding from a change at Head Coach

You go and be a miserable pessimist. I won’t.

You don't think Zeke holding out because of his contract is a distraction?

For his teammates? No. He may end up eventually missing a game or two, and that would be an issue. An all-pro player missing time in camp is not a big deal. It just gets a lot of coverage because it's something to talk about.

Can't see 8-8 or 7-9 for two reasons

1. Too much talent. Arguably 10 or 11 starters on this team that are at or near pro bowl level.

2. Cowboys won double digit games last year despite going a measly 1-3 against the AFC. They have a good chance of flipping AFC record to 3-1 this year. Flipping AFC record + 4 winnable division games is your average season just in half the season.......

So if a pessimist says be ready for average does that make his expectation the floor?

Personally I’d be concerned if he was seeing a 2 win season
