Chicago Bears' new defensive coordinator Dennis Allen hasn't a coached a snap this season. But already his leash is getting longer.

The Bears fired head coach Matt Eberflus after his embarrassing clock mismanagement last Thanksgiving. On Thursday night, Bears fans again saw his coaching weaknesses on full display.

Now the defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys, Eberflus' unit allowed the Philadelphia Eagles to score points on their first four drives - including three touchdowns to start the game - in a 24-20 season-opening loss. Philly ran up 302 yards (4.9 per play) and Dallas' defense failed to create a turnover.

I think we should be pretty happy with the second-half play. He adjusted and it worked well overall. The initial game plan was not a good one because you go into this game knowing that Hurts can hurt you with his legs even more than his arm and you don't seem to account for that.

I do think Eberflus was counting on his containment to be better, but still, you've got to have a plan for when what you are counting on fails. Took us too long to switch gears.

I was gonna say I don’t know if the gameplan was bad because of the lack of containment. Guys weren’t holdup contain at all. Seems like players got better as the game went on:

Yeah, this is just another reason why starters need to get their feet wet in preseason games. Our defense looked several steps behind the Eagle's offense which probably had Parsons smiling from ear to ear for the first 3 quarters. In the 4th quarter Parsons probably pulled the flatscreen off the wall and tossed it across the room when he realized that the Boys don't need him going forward anymore.

Do you judge him by the first half alone sure that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard he held the Philadelphia Eagles at 24 points That's better than I don't know some of Dan Quinn's showings both with us and with Washington the complete game he made the adjustments at halftime and only gave up three points and yeah they had some issues covering Hertz but they held Saquon Barkley the 3.3 yards per carry they didn't get much up the middle at all He never wanted to try to help stop the run game from the running backs he clamped down the two best receivers for the Eagles had 4 catches for 24 yards and it was game one with a bunch of new players..

The fact that Parsons was traded a week before the game also should go to a little bit of a curve here so you guys can write really ridiculous write ups that sound like you wrote it up before halftime..

It was game one on the road against the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles who one of the best offenses in football they're hard to defense ask Spagnola how that felt in the Super Bowl..
