It's also stupid because it basically gives the defense a free challenge.

You don't see plays that are ruled non-scoring get reviewed.

If a close play is ruled incomplete in the endzone, it doesn't get the automatic review.

It's a horrible addition to the review system. If you're going to allow that many reviews, either allow for review of every play by the officials or just allow for a coach to challenge until he gets one wrong.

And another aspect.

If I'm a player and I make catch that I know will be reviewed or there is a fumble ruled on the field that should be ruled incomplete, just go OB at the 1 yard line and you've taken that rule right out of the equation.

Its stupid because it is completely arbitrary. It takes the responsibility for calling a review from the coaches to an anonymous person in a booth who is using totally arbitrary criteria.
