R u serious about having a chance to get Earl Thomas in the draft?

I can easily see Earl Thomas being there. He's the 2/3 best player at his position at a position in a deep first round playing a position that tends to slide on draft day.

Even if he's not, there's a good chance one of the player at his position taken after him ends up being the better pro. After Newman, Scandrick, Jenkins, and Sensabaugh, I've got faith in our ability to pick someone at the top of the draft who can become a starter.

The top 3 safeties will be gone by the time we pick. We'd have to trade up to snag any of them.

I agree. There are two cover safeties in Berry and Thomas then Mays and I forget the other guy then Allen. Allen should be there in the top of the second.

We have no chance at drafting Berry or Thomas. And we don't have the picks to move up to get them.

But I don't want to get between someone and their dreams.

Must be a good sign for the Cowboys if we are agreeing on anything.

Next, I just have to get you on the Taylor Mays bandwagon.

In the end an $8M a year contract impacts the entire team once a cap get's reinstated a year from now, that's why I don't agree with an $8M/year contract for a safety.

Um, yes I am? Remember how we had no shot at Steven Jackson? Well we did. Stranger things have happened in the draft. If Earl Thomas makes it to #20, trade up for him.

See the above post.

After the combine Mays threw up there in Indy I wouldn't mind having him on the team.

I don't particularly want Thomas, but players move +/- 10 spots from the projected spots in the first round every year. It might not be likely, but he could easily be there. I wouldn't move up for the guy if we had the ammo to do so, anyway.

With our pass rush Earl Thomas could be spectacular here.

Bears drop out of race for Rolle
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on March 5, 2010 12:13 AM ET
With the Bears' having swinging for the fences for Julius Peppers, we're hearing Chicago has dropped out of the Antrel Rolle sweepstakes.

Rolle is seeking to make $8-million-per-season, which would make him the highest paid safety in the league. That was deemed too rich by the Bears.

It now looks like a three-team race, with the Cardinals a big underdog to the Giants and Dolphins.

It's worth noting that New York's interest in Rolle could indicate some serious concern about Kenny Phillips' recovery. And Miami's interest doesn't sound good for Gibril Wilson's future with the Dolphins.

Really? The Bears?

Watever Antrel!

You could be on a superbowl calibur team starting making 4 mil but you want to play with trashy Cutler in below zero weather

Your choice!
Yeah I am a huge Cubs fan and I am on that board right now with a bunch of Bears fans and they are so excited about getting both Rolle and Peppers. I am sitting here thinking you have a QB who is clueless right now and a team that had a running back regress(Forte) and no WR's and a below average offensive line. I remember being around last year when they traded for Cutler and they thought they were going to Super Bowl. The Bears have a lot of work to do and getting Rolle and Peppers isn't going to turn them into contenders.
