Did John Madden just accidentally refer to Brett Favre as Tony Romo?

Seriously, Brett Favre juked a defender, and Madden stated, "that's the Ol' Tony Romo there." Did he really mean "that's the Ol' Brett Favre?"

i heard it....but based on this thread, apparently he was referencing urlacher......

No, Brian Urlacher said that Favre is playing like an "old Tony Romo." And Madden has latched onto it.

No, he was referring back to Urlacher's comment about Favre. "That's the 'old Tony Romo' there."

That play did look like Tony except Favre has a bigger arm - he whipped that ball into the receiver. (Not a knock on Tony - Favre still has a bigger arm than anyone).

Brett's wife looks like she is in her mid 40s....she is still pretty, but the cancer and treatment have probably caused her to age 10 or so years. I was disappointed with the interview. You would think for a football wife and has influence, and someone who has been fighting breast cancer, she would have been more articulate and outspoken about how to spread the word about breast cancer, treatments, fund raisers, etc......Maybe she was simply overwhelmed by the moment.

what do u expect.....Madden latches on to everything Favre.....in fact, if Madden is still alive when Favre passes, he will try and still the ashes from Favre's family........and then have them sprinkled in his coffin so he can lay side by side with Favre for eternity.........

The announcers were apparently talking to the Bears players before the game and asked what they thought of Farve and his escapability. Urlacher is supposed to have said, "He's an old Tony Romo," who the Bears played two weeks ago.

That's the way I heard the announcers.

:)

I'm just glad that Romo is Madden's new love toy. I know if it annoys me a little, it must annoy the **** out of Commanders and Eagles fans.

excuse me, but I didn't know you were a doctor, are you a doctor? since you're through giving me your amateur opinion, you're going to be OK, say it, you're going to be OK -- Mr. White

alcohol mainly deals w/ the liver, she had breast cancer, so I doubt alcohol would have much effect on her remission from that type of cancer
You're no more a doctor than I am; so I'm not sure where all that is coming from.

My assumption that alcohol would be bad for her is the general precaution you see on basic OTC medication. "Do not drink alcohol while taking this medication" or when my doctor tells me not drink while taking something. Or how about just the fact her immune system has been ravaged by chemo and whatever else she's taking and anything unhealthy to her system, like alcohol, would cause her to have a medical issue that could affect the status of her cancer remission.

If she drinks anything, at all, it's prolly wine. Anything stronger than that would probably be a detriment to her health.

I can't drink any alcohol with heart medication I'm on. I had to give up drinking because of my heart disease and meds I take. I tried drinking once after the fact and after 2 beers, my shoulders ached with severe pain and I got extremely sick.

It's not common sense. She's two years removed, if I remember correctly, from her cancer. There's no connection between having beaten cancer and not drinking. I have several friends that have beaten cancer and they all drink on occasion.

Not drinking with medication is an entirely different situation -- particularly with pain medication.

Thought I could get away with it just once, but learned the hard way I can't.

I love beer. Used to love beer, that is.
