Checking out Chicago Tribune to see if they had anything worth while to say about the Cowboys along with demoting Grossman for Griese and saw that neither of their starting CBs (Vasher & Tillman) will be able to play against the Lions and maybe even the game after that. Their starting other S is also done so its Archeletta as the only secondary player left over from week 1. Bet Kitna of the Lions happy to see the Bears this weekend.

Who knows. We might be able to help the Bears out in their search for another franchise QB if they end up with a top 10 pick and our Cleveland pick is a top 8. If we don't get McFadden, maybe trading down just 3-5 spaces gets us a player we really want (best CB available, a good RB, WR) and still get the Bears first rounder this year along with their 2nd rounder. Doubt dropping down that little can get us their first rounder in 09.

Cowboys sure did a number injury-wise on the Bears defense & their many injuries could essentially end their season unless the change in QBs able to get on track.

You know what would really stink for Bears fans? If Griese comes in and does great. No, I'm not kidding. Can you imagine how much they will wonder what might have been if it hadn't taken this long?

Sort of like us last year when Romo finally got his chance.

The difference is, Romo is our future, Griese isn't theirs. They know that no matter what, they still have to address QB in 2008.

That would suck.

You hate to see injuries to players. But on the other hand, I'd rather the Cowboys be on the giving end than the receiving end of injuries.

Arch also broke his hand on that block from Hurd. I saw that in a story this morning.

Broken hand can't derail Archuleta

By Vaughn McClure
Tribune staff reporter

September 25, 2007, 9:57 PM CDT

Bears safety Adam Archuleta has a broken right hand but plans to play Sunday at Detroit, an NFL source said.

Archuleta, who had an interception in the 34-10 loss to Dallas, was injured while getting blocked by one of the Cowboys' receivers in the third quarter
.

He landed on his hand during the play but remained in the game.

Archuleta had X-rays on the hand Monday, and no damage to his wrist was detected. He emerged from the locker room with an air cast for support. He will play with a regular cast Sunday.

Archuleta's status is relatively good news for a banged-up Bears defense.

As for Tommie Harris, an MRI on Monday revealed he had sprained the medial collateral ligament in his left knee. The Bears hold out hope that Harris, a quick healer, will play against the Lions.

A Tribune report Tuesday that Harris was expected to miss the game didn't paint an accurate picture of the injury, according to Harris' marketing agent, Bill Horn. Speculation that Harris could miss up to a month was based on the amount of time rookie tight end Greg Olsen missed with a similar injury and not the projections of Horn or Harris.

Also, a source said linebacker Lance Briggs was fine and ready to go after a groin injury knocked him out the Dallas game.

Cornerback Nathan Vasher, who also left the game with a groin injury, had an MRI on Tuesday. If Vasher can't go, Ricky Manning Jr. will step in.

Guard Ruben Brown (ankle), tackle Fred Miller (knee), cornerback Charles Tillman (ankle), defensive end Adewale Ogunleye (hip pointer) and nose tackle Darwin Walker (quad) are on the mend as well.

Charles Tillman is expected to miss at least two games with a sprained right ankle.
With Nathan Vasher out for a month, the Bears' secondary is officially a mess. Rookie seventh-round pick Trumaine McBride will start in Tillman's place, making him the unlikely first member of the team's 2007 draft class to crack the starting lineup.

The Lions are going to watch the film and see what we did to them and LIGHT them up i mean LIGHT them up in the passing game

Yes, it would. It also will suck if Griese comes out and is terrible. Right now there is hope that he will be better. That hope will be smothered if Griese is not. And with all these injuries there is a strong possibility that even if Griese is better the Bears may still suffer some losses.

Adam Archuleta, you got JACKED UP!!! And by Sam Hurd no less! :lmao2:

We definitely are playing with ferociousness and fun. It is always more fun to hit someone than to get hit. Wade has this team playing with confidence and abandon and I love it! :D

If Griese plays well, he is still plenty young enough to drive the bus for another year or 3 and help groom a draft pick.

You noticed that every team we played so far reads like a mash unit by the end of the game.

They need to install an infirmary on the sideline for the other team

i dont know, i still think the bears defense is good.

the eagles gave up yards but kept the lions from scoring a lot and that was without shepherd and dawkins. I think that beras pass rush will keep kitna from having a big day.

And it's usually the defense that takes the most abuse...

True. Imagine if Griese revives them and then goes on one of his former benders...

Their defense is amazing. They can apply pressure from everywhere. I predict no other team will score on them like we did all year. No one will run on them like we did. If not for the silly penalties on 2 or 3 Julius runs we'd have gone for over 200 yards on them. It won't happen again.

I never understood the hate for Griese. What exactly happened in Denver for him to fall off so badly?

I knew he'd been involved in some odd incidences, but as far as on the field, I never thought he was poor.

Truth?

He was following John Elway. Denver fans weren't about to be satisified.

The Bears face Denver in November at home. If Greise beats the Broncos they will wail.

Pretty sure he was an ******, too. QB's son with a tremendous sense of entitlement.

Don't quote me on that.

My thoughts too. what the egales did to detroit has everyone talking, but the cowboys going into chicago and beating them soundly by wearing that defense out and doing it on national tv, a prime time game - that is much more impressive.

I seem to recall he made quite a few mistakes as the Bronco's starter but he also had problems in their lockerroom. He also had a drinking problem which affected his career there.

Don't recall what his problem was with the Bucs but he's definitely not starter material -- makes too many poor decisions when throwing the ball. Sound familiar.

Frankly, his last name of Griese made him a high draft pick but his performance hasn't been good enough to keep him on at least 3 other NFL rosters. He's definitely a step up over Grossman which should make Bear fans happy. But he'll make his sure of mistakes so they all will realize he's not more then a 1-2 year answer.

Bears need to draft a good QB but not sure they can recognize one when he's there. But there history has never been one of valuing QBs and they've made lousy choices in McGowen (?spelling) & then Grossman.
