Bears released CB Desmond Trufant today

Shocker!! The Bears have a great front 7 but now they have no corners and only Eddie Jackson remains from that once-great 2018 secondary. I'm worried about the Bears defensive ability to hold up on the back end now.

If Trufant wants to sign for a reasonable price considering he's owed money by Detroit, get it done Quinn, NOW!! He'd instantly be CB2 and we can jettison Brown as a cap casualty or trade him for a late pick.

For some reason I thought he was older than 30 but yeah hard to want a vet that old who is not his former self.

I don't know. He'd be the same price as Brown and instantly rendering Brown's role useless. I've been wanting to get rid of #30 for years and this would be the way to do it.

Funny thing about this.....he has a PFF grade of a 38 last season even in just 6 games.....ouch. Bears said he's damaged....Lions says he's done....but of course Cowboys fans flock to him....

What does Quinn say about him?

He was playing injured last year, and thus why he missed 10 games. Plus the Lions have had one of the worst pass rushes in the league since Suh and Ansah left.

I'm not denying he wasn't hurt. I'm saying that's the issue here. He may simple be cooked. Body breaking down because of father time. All i'm saying is he's not the player that he was 5 years ago. He was a great name at one point but them days are long gone.

Joseph and Wright aren't ready. Brown is a JAG. They need to make this move.

if I could like this post, I would. Especially the 2nd sentence. I am cool with Joseph as my CB2. But Trufant in Quinn's scheme would be better.

Scheme fit. People often have later career rejuvenations. He's only 30, not 35. He's certainly a day 1 upgrade to Anthony Brown.

..this guy could ball at the time. I wonder if he still has it?

He's not a upgrade if he misses the whole season like he did last year.....and what do you mean scheme fit? That's why the Bears looked at Trufant because he's suppose to fit their scheme. He just wasn't very good. Based on reports anyway.
