So the Bears trade their #1 QB, Justin Fields, to the Steelers for almost nothing.
This resets their QB salary cap for another 5-6 years. It also allow to get more people around Caleb Williams, to better set up the Bears. And, Chicago realized that Fields isn't the QB, that can get the Bears to the playoffs and further.

Steelers already have Russell Wilson as their cheap QB, also realize that their previous pick from just 2 seasons ago, is not going to get their success rich franchise to where they want to go is to get another SB. They drafted away their younger QB and then still don't settle for that or just Wilson, but go after Justin Fields.

Meanwhile, our Cowboys continue to force a round object into a square peg. Will continue to rearrange the deck chairs and are content season after season.

it's only year 9 and a miracle could happen. All the scrubs we will have to pick up because the anchor needs more money to play harder will all become super stars. We probably will not play any really good teams this year in the regular season or in the playoffs, so we probably win it all this year, because he's dak good.

I’m not a big Dak fan but he’s better than all the QBs you mentioned in your post. I wouldn’t consider anything the Bears or Steelers did as fantastic football moves. And it helps to have the #1 pick to try and get the next great NFL QB.

Dak is improving every day and his best football is ahead of him! lol

Tend to agree but and I do like Dak. But when is enough, enough? I would rather have Russell Wilson making less than $2M and have all that cap space to surround Wilson with better players than ONE player soak up so much cap space that you have to surround him with Dollar General players. Why? Because you also have to "back the truck up" for Parson/Lamb.

You all do know the Steelers kept Big Ben like 3 years after he was cooked and then over drafted the University of Pittsburgh kid. The reality is Russ is cooked and Fields is really just Lance who actually got a two year opportunity to claim the Bears job.

I’d imagine if in his rookie year fields took the bears to a 13-3 record and then in his 3rd year was the qb for a 10-6 record. He’d probably still be there.

Apples to oranges with the qb comparison. Though Dallas should pick a path

Everything you’re saying is true but both Pittsburgh and Chicago are building legitimate teams that mid QBs can win with. Pittsburgh made it just as far as the cowboys did last year with a JAG QB who there 6TDs in 12 games. Even a cooked Russ should be a major upgrade.

Thats why I’m a fan of what these two teams are doing….get a complete team around these guys, then get the qb….much better formula to win IMO

FYI........Field rejected four destinations to play for the Steelers. For their part, Bears GM agree to take less to trade him to a team of his choice. I recall him saying after season, IF they decided to keep the 1st overall pick for the top QB, he would try and do right by Fields. This explains why their compensation from the Steelers was low.

Bears were terrible and got a top ten pick as a result and traded their only good player for the other and got lucky. Their best franchise QB played like a hundred years ago.

Pittsburgh hasn’t won a playoff game in nearly ten years, still doesn’t have a QB as good as Dak (that’s not a Dak brag). They’re situation with Fields is either going to end or their going to have to pay him real money in a year.

Different teams are different.

Chicago has been building for years with nothing to show for it and Pittsburgh has basically been the Cowboys since they won the Super Bowl in 2008. You’re a fan of a team that has busted on several high drafted quarterbacks, wasted multiple high picks, and has not done anything since 85.

Unlike Dallas, it seems like the Bears were not going to spend 8 years to evaluate a QB.
Our qb is one of the best in the league and just had his best year where he was the runner up for the mvp. You actually want to downgrade at qb? That's crazy. And by the way, the Bears haven't won since 1985.

This is such a reach. Steelers are taking on two failed qb experiments. This should not be commended or emulated. As far as Bears go they can’t win games and they have the first pick in the draft.

Your assumption is that anyone but Dak is automatically a downgrade. Which is an utterly dumb take, especially in like of that spectacular bed crapping he put on display in the playoffs.

As I have posted several times before, it is all about philosophy. There are 32 different ones. None is right and none is wrong until after the fact.

And meanwhile, the Cowboys have not been to a NFC Conference game in 30 years. That is what you get judged on, not comparing yourself to the Bears
