Great trade by the Bears. They get another year to evaluate Fields and if he's not the answer, they have an extra 1st in 2024 to help move up if needed to get Caleb Williams/Drake Maye

So many variables at play to determine how this trade plays out. Looks great for the Bears to add all those pieces around what they think is their franchise QB but what if he's not? What if you look back on this in 5 years and see the Bears trade out of a legit franchise QB to build a supporting cast around one that isn't? Then it doesn't look so good.

Whoever is right on their QB wins the trade. If it's both or neither then it's a wash.

Obviously nothing is guaranteed, but if the Bears are wrong on Fields they will have 2 1st’s next year to get the QB. Not the worst scenario for them. This trade also gives them a chance to properly evaluate Fields with weapons and an o-line.

On a separate note, get ready for the Cardinals to be the next team to get a haul. They are set up at #3 for someone to want to jump the Colts at #4 to get a QB. Of course there’s also a good argument for them taking a QB as well, but Murray’s contract probably prohibits them from moving on

Speculation is Panthers taking Richardson. All I will say is, the history of NCAA QBs taken in the first round with a 54% completion percentage isn't a good one. Could set the Panthers back years.

With how boom or bust this draft is, the best part of the trade right now is dj Moore. Draft just seems to be full of players that are just a little too slow, little too light, and a little too short.

It is an ugly stat, but remember Josh Allen was a 56% passer in college. Bills took him off his immense arm, huge frame, and upside.

Don’t think Panthers are moving up for Richardson, but I also don’t think he’s an automatic bust

I think that would fall on their scouting department in some ways.

if they believe what they have in fields is better than the top QBs in this draft then why not keep the better player and build around him.

If they believe what they have in Fields is not as good as the top QBs in this draft...They could easily trade up a few spots in this draft to get one of the other two they like and still come out ahead.

They also have the option of building more for their team in this years draft by trading down and if they are not completely happy with Fields but also not in love with the top QBs in this draft they will have two first round picks next year as ammo to go after a QB in the draft if need be,

I have a feeling that if there was a Luck or Lawrence in this draft they would not be trading down

As a Charlotte native this was awesome news to hear.

Cowboys fan for life but I’ve taken the Panthers under my wing for backup team.

The Bears struck a deal with the Carolina Panthers on Friday to send them the top pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, according to multiple reports. In exchange, the Bears received two future first- and second-round draft picks and Panthers wide receiver DJ Moore, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

I am not judging the deal but this is in stark contrast to the boring, same old, same old in Jerald's world.

But chaps, at least the Bears and Panthers acted!
Our FO, so far, is classic example of a do-nothing organization.
Miffed and peeved at the sweat lodge. And you ruffians should also be spitting butter beans!

Holla, chaps.
