Seems odd to get rid of the best player on the team. I would think they'd want to get rid of Cutler, if anyone.

Wouldn't surprise me if the Jets gave then this year's 2nd rounder...

It would surprise me if they gave up that much. I would think it would be more like a 4th or 5th rounder.

Yes, he was such a leader for them with a great aging gracefully future that they just shipped him out of town.

He's one of the last guys I would want in my locker room.

New leadership.

Clearing the deck.

I don't think this has anything to do with Marshall and has everything to do with starting over post Cutler.

Also you don't know Marshall like I don't know Marshall. So I'll go by reports that say he was an asset in the locker room. You can go by.... Well.... Nothing?

I like the move for the Jets.... if they didn't give up an arm and a leg...
my next move would be shipping that sixth pick to the eagles if it looks like mariotta is gonna fall to that pick...

agreed....
he seems to have been the model citizen since his diagnosis, and medication.
very studious on inside the nfl.

I'm going to guess it's probably a fourth or lower. The Bears wanted Marshall gone. And he's probably seen his best days. If the Bears got a third or better, consider it I-65 robbery. ;)

Cutler isn't going anywhere. The Bears are still on the hook for $16 million guaranteed this year whether he's on the roster or not. The only way out for them is a trade, and no one would take that contract off their hands.

Yup, they made a REAL dumb decision giving that massive contract to him. That was an idiotic decision.

Yeah. I think he was making 10/year, so they're also clearing some room.
Alshon Jeffery was by far their leading WR (statistically) last year anyway.
They still have #1 WR going forward.

I heard it was mid to late round pick. Jets needed a WR and this gives them a chance to go BPA in the next draft. I would say win/win. Marshall wore his welcome in Chicago and Jets needed a WR.

Jets may trade with Philly now. If they gave up a draft pick, they could be looking to get one back.

Some top flight talent leaving the NFC: Marshall, McCoy, likely Suh...

LOL. This is rich.

You go with those phantom reports about his great leadership. I'll go with everything else I've ever read on the head case. He is one of the last players I'd want around a rebuilding team.

Apparently the Bears agree with me. Since they just shipped out their "great leader" who should "age gracefully".
