these are two sub par teams, obviously, but neither division is loaded with powerhouse teams. i can see both teams being at that 5-7 win bracket, with the bears being the better team of the two.

not at all. you can't be considered a powerhouse, front runner, etc. with an unproven commodity at qb. which is also what's holding back the vikes back from being a dangerous team.

if i were a niners fan i would be ecstatic with an 8-8 record. i gotta admit i kinda miss having that boys-niners rivalry. at first it was hilarious, but now it's sad to see that illustrious organization run into the ground by that tool, john york.

total for both, 8 wins maybe...but no way do they each win 8 games...both teams appear to have terrible defenses and will be extremely limited offensively when they do face even average teams

there are a bunch of ifs surrounding that defense, but if they can avoid injuries ( brown, harris, urlacher, vasher, dvoracek, etc.), i'd expect to see them back in the top 10 and be a force once again.

if they fail horribly this year it'll be bye bye lovie. a lot of people here in chicago are already on him for the coaching exchange of ron rivera for bob babich, who has yet to impress.

The more I see Caleb Hainey play the more I hope the Bears try to sneak him onto the practice squad and we grab him. I like him as well or better than Matt Moore who we lost last year. This kid is an excellent prospect as a developmental QB. Much, much better than Bartel.

I like the player as well.

I haven't seen Hanie play, but I googled note that the Boys were among five or six teams that wanted to sign him as UDFA ... can't blame him for picking the Bears though.

Josh Morgan of 49ers didn't do much tonight it looks like, but he's among the preseason receiving leaders and might even start this year accd to folks on the left coast .. this from a 6th round pick last April (Va Tech).
