Whoa! I didn't see that one coming. I may have to re-evaluate my fondness for Sam if there turns out to be anything to this story, and if was dealing.

I didn't think we would skip a beat by losing Marion and Sam to Chicago.

I always liked Sam, he was a special teams beast and didnt complain about his role.

ESPN will report it as, "Ex Dallas Cowboys WR Sam Hurd ... "

thefan says hoped your cleared but being reported that hurd has been arrested on drug charges

And Bear fans lament, "Why couldn't it have been Marion Barber on drug charges?"

At least that could somewhat explain Barber's moronic blunders.

Never expected Hurd to have been dealing. Anyway, someone give Hurd Commander OL Trent Williams' cellphone number so they can work out a sale.:)

Hope the allegations are false but if true what the hell are you thinking Sam?

I hope none of his former teammates were involved...

The FBI investigation was out of Dallas. I am a bit worried about it. If it was out of Chicago I wouldn't be concerned as much.

I would bet this investigation has been going on for some time now and while Hurd was still in Dallas. Does he still live in Dallas or at least have a home in Dallas? He is originally from Texas and went to college in Northern Illinois. Got a nice little pipeline going. Wikipedia has already been updated and says ICE is handling the investigation.

Hey the guy was only making, what, about 2 mil this season? Gotta supplement that income somehow to make ends meet. You really think McD's would work around his football schedule?

Nope, it was just for personal use. He rolls big joints.

The complaint can be found at this link. They have been looking at him since July.

According to the complaint, Hurd told an undercover operative that he wanted up to 10 kilograms of cocaine and a half ton of marijuana per week "for distribution in the Chicago area."

I wonder if this is why we dumped him. You have to think the Cowboys were aware of this months ago.

What?! Sam Hurd??? I'm shocked by this news. He really seemed to be a "good guy".

I think you will see some other names uncovered. Even if not directly involved, you have to believe some of his teammates knew what he was doing.

Chicago Bears receiver Sam Hurd was arrested Wednesday night in Chicago on federal charges after allegedly attempting to purchase drugs from a North Texas supplier, the Dallas Morning News reported.
