Beasley's injury(s)

Opposing teams didn't seem to think so.

2016 we went on and on about Dak & Zeke but Beasley was just as important in our formula to win that year.

+1 Not to mention he was doubled most of last year even with Dez and Witten still on the team.

6 years in the league. 20 TDs. 250 catches. 2600 yards. That’s over 6 seasons. That’s about half of Doug Baldwin’s production. Travis Benjamin has over 100 more catches. Marvin Jones drafted the same year has more yards, more TDs. Rishard Matthews drafted in round 7 has way better numbers. Cole does have better numbers than Rod Streater though. That I will agree with.

Beasley is a prime example of a player that benefits from fan bias.

Look at the numbers. He’s ok. Very, very replaceable. IMO Hurns and Austin are better choices in the slot.

If they cut Beasley tomorrow I’m guessing there would be a lot of people saying the same things they said about Witten and Dez once they were gone and I wouldn’t disagree. The difference is, while he’s still on our roster a lot of fans won’t admit it due to homerism and/or bias.

While I know it's important to look at production numbers, I feel like Beasley has a knack for getting open in key situations kind of like Witten did and making the first down. I think that is an invaluable trait, and with the receiving core changing so much I think the chemistry he already has with Dak is important. Let's give him a year without Dez and in a better system before writing him off. I love the Bease. After all, they did just start selling his jersey at the pro shop, lol.

Williams is better at getting open in crucial situations. Nothing that Beasley does is special and can be replaced by a rookie

Beasley has had a fraction of the production those guys have had.
I agree. Due to either physical constraints, or scheme constraints or both. He is quick not fast he lives within 10 yards of the LOS, since he does not have speed him being wide open deep would need to be mistake by the defense.

You know he led the league in catches for first downs in 2016.....right? His game is moving the chain, not stretching the field.

Thanks for the insight.

I know he has averaged 42 catches per season over his 6 year career - that's less than 3 per game - making 2016 an anomaly. Look it up.

No team dedicated two guys to Beasley, teams just had LB more or less stay near the LOS cutting off anything short which is Beasley's bread and butter. No team had two guys on him, it was more like basketball post play denial, have guy hanging around that just so happens disrupts Beasley's strength which was the option route.

Beasley is very overrated.
It depends on the context. Given that he was an undrafted free agent who walked out of his first training camp and was on the verge of never playing the game, it might be argued that the team has received a tremendous return on a very small investment (no pun intended).

I tend to think that any production the team gains from UDFAs is gravy. As an organization, at least we seem to be above par in this area.

Cole has been a fairly important cog in our offense. He's definitely replaceable, but so are all but maybe 5 or 6 WRs in the league.

Opposing teams didn't seem to think so.

Dudes still speaking facts. He has yet to eclipse 1000 yards in a season.

Not really that. They did see him as Dak's most targeted guy so they took him away. That doesn't mean he is elite it just means on this team he was the bigger threat.

I recall him putting a deep, HUGE divot on the manicured backyard of Landon Collins& company's A.O. just last year. ,,,,that #11 is a completely RESPECTED THREAT, LEAGUE-WIDE:cool:
