Odell Beckham Jr. wants to be highest-paid player, 'period'

Odell Beckham Jr. has loftier goals than being the NFL's highest-paid wide receiver -- he wants to be the NFL's highest-paid player.

The New York Giants' star wide receiver made the declaration in a video posted by the Uninterrupted on Thursday.

Get ready to let Dez go after this contract then. If Beckham is $25M, then what's Dez worth - $20M? A $25M contract to receiver would be devastating, not just to the Giants, but every other team with a top-flight receiver.

No, Surfer, Dez will be receiving his (probable) last contract. Even if it were his second, and as much as I love Dez, he wouldn't touch the money OBJ gets.

In any event, Dez's (probable; and last/third contract) will be much less than his previous one (his second that covered his prime years, and that he's still under), and his previous one was $14 mil AAV. Signed in the summer of 2015.

Definitely agree about how damaging it would be to see a WR, even an elite one like OBJ, get $25 mil. I don't see it happening. I hope not.

Could see a super desperate team with money to burn give him 20, but no where near what the top QB's make.

This guy is already missing out on OTAs and doing promotional or sponsorship stuff instead (I get he doesn't want to put his body on the line before extending his contract, but still). Once he makes his money he'll put less and less effort in. Then come the hammy pulls and groin tears. Paying this idiot anything more than normal top WR money would be a disaster. He already can't handle the mental side of things, imagine him with $100M+
