Beeping ceiling fan

You know how when you want to shut off the ceiling fan you pull on that cord, but it keeps spinning? You're not sure if it's off and is still turning via momentum or you haven't actually shut it off. Annoying.

I wonder if anyone's made a ceiling fan that beeps to let you know if it's on or off. For example, if you pull the cord and it's still on, it beeps once. If you've shut it off, it could beep twice really fast.

I can't be the only person who's thought of this.

Beep. It's still on.
Beep-beep. It's off.

Most people just watch for a few seconds, to see if it slows down past the point of "Low"...or they pay attention to how many times they pulled the cord when they turned it on. But you could always have an electrician install a small LED indicator, spliced to the switch.
