I don't drink beer, .. but I have no problem if others choose to.
One thing I don't understand though, is that some people have to have beer to "enhance" something that is already awesome.
A few years ago when WVU was in the top 5 and top 10 in football, we had big Thursday night games or big games on Saturday's.
Sometimes it would be #5 vs #7, or #3 vs #10, .. big games.
What could be better than having your favorite team playing on the big stage?
But that wasn't enough, they had to add beer. So consequently one friend passed out in the front seat of his truck during the tailgate party.
Another friend passed out in the stadium prior to the National Anthem. Both missed the entire game. I don't get it.
Why wasn't having your favorite team playing in a nation wide game enough? Why add beer, and then miss the event you are celebrating?
One guy got in pre-game fight and got all messed up because he was drunk.
Recently I was at the beach for a week, .. what could be better than that?
But some families around us added beer, and by mid afternoon, they were drunk each day, acting like fools, fighting amongst each other.
Once again, why was spending a beautiful day at the beach, in the sun, and playing in the ocean not sufficient? Why the need to add beer, which ruined it.
That's simple. They find beer equally or more interesting than the events at hand. Some people use events as just another reason to drink. It's not the game; it's the hype... the setting, that intrigues.
Not justifying their actions. I don't think it's necessary to introduce beer into everything-- even as a huge beer drinker/brewer.
