Should be painfull to the Jones clan but doubt that anything changes as far as future plans or build process.

Why should things change for the Cowboys?
The situation is comfortable.
Revenue is coming in.
Winning enough to be relevant
Most valuable sports franchise.
Times are good!
Just can't seem to win that pesky sb.

The mediocrity comfort Jones disease has poisoned the fanbase as well. Attempting new ways like hiring a GM, pursuing impact FAs or going all in are not even a consideration.

And many here, just like the Joneses, will take their yearly 8 to 11 wins, okay, a couple of 12's, lol. But then early playoff exit and criticize you if you ain't happy with it.

It's both the Jones Family and CowboyZone reality.

And you'll like it.
Or else.

Everything you said is correct, I can only add that this day is possibly a wake up call, but I doubt it.
I can only hope that Jerry has one last play, and possibly does so when he sees Filthy stinking Eagles lay one on KC and wins the SB today.
Thats all I can hope for today is that Jerry is watching.

Embedded in the article:

lol. Jerry Jones may read or hear of Jeffrey Lurie's comments and will say to himself that he is a much better general manager than Howie Roseman. Should he say his conclusion aloud where someone could hear it and ask him why that is, Jones would respond with:

"I have three Lombardi trophies and am in the Pro Football Hall of Fame."

Then he would get extremely uncomfortable after someone followed up with, "That third Lombardi was 28 years ago. And you got into the Hall as an owner, not as a general manager."

The Cowboys are flowing so much cash into Highland Park that the Jones' think they are the champs and that winning is just a symptom of where they are financially.

Hate to see my boys in this somewhat hopeless situation.

THIS:

It is great that the Cowboy have had some real wins in the draft in the past several years, and we should absolutely hope that continues. But it is a limited approach without the other needed elements. And it is important to accept the risk of falling off when things don’t work out. It seems apparent that the current mindset of the ownership is too concerned with not slipping too far, resulting in, as Jerry Jones has said, being content with a kind of high level mediocrity. That cautious approach keeps them from taking the necessary risks to fully succeed. To see the benefits of doing so, they only need look at their beloved division rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles. They won their first Lombardi Trophy ever just six years ago, but by 2020 had pretty much fallen on hard times. Yet, Howie Roseman used every tool at his disposal, and in just two years have them back in the Super Bowl again.

Jerry Jones says he is a risk taker, but in truth seems to have lost that edge. Stephen never has had it. We can keep hoping it changes. It just seems a faint one.

These same same threads all fail to realize that we were right there vs the Niners. Dak brings his B+ game, Diggs decides to make a freaking Ronnie Lott hit instead of a pan sey Whiff on Kittle and we win that game. We completely shut down the All Powerfull 49’ers offense, they were not able to do squat! Bosa was not able to do Squat either going against a rookie and a RT that is as old as Moses. So, all of these other teams are so great because they have these great GM’s, but we were right freaking there and Philly we have their #, that game was there for the taking. Keep Calm and Carry On!
