There are not just two states, positive and negative, there is a third and that is indifference. You simply stop caring.Being positive isn’t about pretending the Cowboys have been successful — it’s about protecting your sanity, your enjoyment, and your identity as a fan. Negativity feels “realistic,” but long‑term it drains you, narrows your perspective, and makes the whole experience miserable.
Being negative about the Cowboys doesn’t change the record, the roster, or Jerry’s decisions.
It just changes you — your mood, your enjoyment, your energy.
Positivity is the only mindset that gives you a return on investment:
• You enjoy the wins more
• You survive the losses easier
• You stay connected to the team without burning out
The always negative type think:
“If I expect failure, I can’t be disappointed.”
But here’s the truth:
They’re still disappointed — they just ruin the season in advance and they become bitter.
Positive fans get:
• Hope during the season
• Excitement during wins
• A buffer during losses
Negativity is just pre‑pain.
So that’s why I always preach, stay positive and go Cowboys.
How does that manifest itself? Maybe you stop posting on message boards, maybe you stop checking in on how training camp is going, maybe you record the games instead of watching live, ect...
