And more specifically, injures TO the OLine. We have zero decent backup O-line guys, and our O-Line is aging. I could seriously see a single O-Line injury decimating our offense a la Kosier last year, the backups are THAT bad.

And I know if that happens, the media will immidietly start talking about how overrated Tony Romo is, or that he's choking, or how much we miss TO. But I don't think that'll be the case.
Well, we do seem to have one decent backup (Holland). And being as they're working Bigg @ tackle a little during camp, we may be able to handle a few games w/out a starter. But hopefully Free or McQ can begin to show SOMETHING, just in case because I don't think anyone wants to see the Proctologist back in the lineup again!!!

I'm not a fan of Holland. Just because a Broncos cast off was better than riff raff we're carrying doesn't mean he's very good.

Derek Holland doesn't play oline for the Cowboys. He is a Texas Rangers rookie pitcher with huge potential! :laugh2:

Being simply better than Proctor doesn't qualify him either.

Our OL depth is scary and it is getting scarier with each training camp report.

I certainly hope we do something via trade. Otherwise we will better be rubbing the life out of some rabbit's feet for perfect health for the starters.

This is one of those positions that's got me really concerned.

Like the 2009 version of '08's backup quarterback.

the reality is none of us has a clue about the oline depth because we haven't seen them play too much, but that seems to equate to a weakness to most people.

If you don't understand why you don't plug in random dudes in the line because, for instance, flo is hurting then you don't understand the dynamics of good o-line play. Chemistry is the name of the game on the line and the guys have to think as one unit, you have to know what the guys around you are going to do, and when you are down a man or two you don't just blow it up completely, plugging in guys just to do it.

I seem to recall Dallas' defense not being able to get in New England's way that day.

I think that helped too.

The 3rd qtr 4th and short conversion was sucessful but Kosier was abit more energetic on Brushi and called for a hold.I think, we were leading, If that had been good that game was poised in our way.:banghead:

From the sounds of things blowing it up completely is what we may end up doing if something happens to Adams. Most are convinced we'd see Davis at LT, so then what about right guard? It is back to the "unknown" like Pat McQuistin. I don't think he's "unknown". I just don't think he's taken a step forward since his rookie year. Free could be considered "unknown". At least he has the injury excuse, but if he were solid, I doubt we would bother disrupting the line with working Davis that much at left tackle.

I have hopes for Free, but it scares me that - despite Adams various ailments - he wasn't even active for several games last season.

To me, that says he either wasn't capable, or the staff doesn't know what they're doing.

Either of which is not good.

It's too bad a defensive coach should have told our team to stop NE you have to stop Wes Welker....not Moss!!!!

Wade actually said before that game that the key to winning was stopping the run. I hope he was being deceptive or just spouting coach-speak at the time, because it was complete idiocy otherwise. I suspect he didn't mean it as we saw a whole bunch of new wrinkles to our coverage schemes in that game. Obviously they didn't work as well as expected, but there wasn't much at all slowing down New England for the first couple months of the season that year. They were the best pass offense the game has ever seen that year.

While I usually don't appreciate the rebuttal like I'm about to make, I also seem to remember us beating the crap out of a Giant's team when they took Witten away in their stadium.

I think individual games that show the reverse don't necessarily contradict the original premise.

What does make the Belicheat story work is that they had a tremendous offensive machine we couldn't stop.

And enters Martellus Bennett.

bennett type of TE was what BP had in mind when he drafted fasano. with our two TE sets and bennet and witten's blocking ability it provides defenses with so much problems. we can run and pass with same basic personnel package and present so many looks by moving them around and teams won't know what to do. is it pass? is it run? is it power formation? is it an HB look? is it a 3 Wr set? is it a 4 Reciever set? who is going where?

I have a feeling this offense is going to be something more special than 2 years ago.

Again, it's not about the result but rather the priorities. Besides, it's not a matter of what they stopped or how well they stopped it; it's more about how they deployed their resources and how committed they were to stop an aspect of the offense.

Like I said, Moss was clearly the best offensive player on that NE team, but the teams that had the most success against that team (Ravens, Colts, Giants) were NOT those who stopped Moss. Instead, they were teams that got to Brady and took away his outlet options.
