To me that would be probably the best they could come up with, the only issue is would Mike agree to it. Then you could continue McCarthy calling plays for Dak while you got a discipline oriented defensive head coach.

this would be an interesting conversation. “Mike, I can fire you and pay you your entire contract for next year or you can continue to work for that same money as an OC under Bill Belicheck? Which would you choose?

I invision no situation where McCarthy would agree to that. If Bill and Mike are on the dame staff its likely because the Cowboys hired Bill as a special consultant to the GM, lol
