I know many fans were hopeful but many of us certainly suspect if he’d be interested with our dysfunctional situation giving up the control he seeks , assuming Jethro & Son would even pursue which was probably unlikely as well for same reasons.

I am a little surprised he didn’t pursue coming back to NFL only needing 15 wins to break Shulas total win mark. But I guess he wants to pursue being one of the HC’s to win both a SB and Nat’l Championship. Or just ride off into the sunset on his own terms .

Hard to say why he went this direction. Maybe the Taraheels just pursued him and no one else was calling. His style and persona doesn’t seem to fit this level . And unlike many coaches who start off at college level this will be his first stint.

ACC definitely appears to be a much easier major conference to break thru competition to playoffs than say SEC or Big 10. So there’s that.

Im just having a difficult time seeing him as a major recruiter at 73 years old with his demeanor . Maybe he’s counting on his name to carry it or depending on an asst coaching staff to go to all of these kids homes.

My hunch is while he could have some success I wouldn’t expect him to contend with the major schools around the country for the Blue Chip talent.

Good news is we won’t have the storyline or drama surrounding him in NFL. Now who is everyone’s pipe dream beyond Bill.

He was never coming here. Fans made up some fantasy to make themselves feel better. They were not bringing in another 70+ year old HC. They brought in BP because they wanted the stadium built. That’s it.
Sure they would. If Bill agreed to be another yes man for Jerry, he would be hired on the spot.

As long as the Jones' run the show you can have the second coming of Vince Lombardi and it won't matter.

Bill's North Carolina job is still pending approval, although, it does appear that he's likely to be accepted. He wasn't a likely candidate to sign on with Jerry anyway. Bill's expectations aren't in line with what Jerry would allow, in terms of Bill taking his choice of assistants and draft picks. Jerry will either retain McCarthy or take his chances with another head coaching candidate.

There is nothing wrong with having expectations. There is zero wrong wanting the best for your team.

Not considering Jerry Jones' wants and expectations--or ignoring the same for others who might enter his sphere of nonsense--has obvious pitfalls. Non tempered expectation and want for Bill Belichick as the new head coach of the Dallas Cowboys is the umpteenth example of such.

Mike McCarthy's final fate is another example. Will Jones do the typical thing? Or will he do the atypical thing? Folks, weighing the latter possibility, are automatically removing Jones' wants and expectations out of the equation yet again.

Kept telling everyone Belichick wasn’t coming here. I said repeatedly I wasn’t convinced he would be coaching in the NFL again. NFL teams weren’t interested. There’s a youth movement amongst head coaches going on in the NFL.

He was never working under the ‘Jerry way’ and Jerry would never have hired him.

I don’t know why so many had this fantasy. As if he was going to come here and yell at players then they would no longer play stupid football in Dallas.

Jerry is the head coach and the leader of everything, and why this team is headed toward being a complete joke, and it’s fully deserved.
