Ripping it up at his pro day apparently
39.5" vertical
10'2" broad

At 6'4" 262lbs
40 time to come
Good late round pick up

De stanford, pec injury in october
Had 4.5 sacks, 7.5 tfl before injury.
Started 27/28 games before that.
My guess is he would have been a solid 3rd round choice if not injured

He will end up being a 4th round pick watch. Guy is a beast. Interested to see if he does any bench work. Thats what the question for him is. He tore his pectoral

He played as a 3-4 DE in college. He is best going in a straight line to the QB like a 3-4 DE or 4-3 DT. I don't see him as a bend-the-corner outside rusher (4-3 DE).

Sounds eerily similar to Chris Canty

Not that that's a bad thing. Just very similar situation.

I've been hyping Gardner for a long time now....not saying he will have the same career as him, but he reminds me a little of Jared Allen. Relentless is a good way to describe his play style. I think he'd be perfect for SDE in a 4-3, he'd be great against the run and he'd be at least average at rushing the passer. Could possibly move inside on definite passing situations too

I thnk he is scheme versatile but i see him easily paying strong side DE in our 4-3. He will just be a rotation guy but a good solid backup

Ben Gardner would be a perfect rotation guy for this team in 2014. I think he will turn into a very productive SDE

Love the player.. If he's there in the 5th I don't hesitate. Productive played. Constantly impacting games

As a college 3-4 DE, do you see him as a 4-3 DE or a 3-tech? Most of his success in pass rushing seems to come while going in a straight line to the QB. I didn't see much at all in terms of bending the corner on the outside.

Hmmm... Depends on what he weighs at.. I love him rushing inside on nickel downs. Tenacious, excellent motor.

Not sure he has the athletic ability or the bend to rush consistently from the outside. If he stays at the 270 range, I would try as a LDE and then kick inside on passing downs. Can be excellent rotational guy
