If Dallas had not hired McCarthy as HC, I wonder if he would have ever been a head coach again (after GB).

Caleb Williams . Vegas went after him but they would have to draft a QB . Johnson can go day one in Chicago and install the offense . Plus it’s a 2 game a year instant rivalry with the Lions .

I heard Jerry just woke up to learn that BJ singed already, and his quote was "we weren't expecting this, and shocked that Ben signed so quickly"

Great signing by the Bears. Good for them I suppose. His camp had said he wanted a young QB to develop. Bears or Pats were really the only ones out there.

I’m sure there’s people gnashing their teeth, but he could only sign for one team.

Why?
Nothing says he will be successful there.
Unless you truly think he can do wonders with Williams. Time will tell.

Hes a nice candidate and a good hire for a team with a young qb trying to find it's way.

I think the sentiment is more based on making a move with actual upside, which would be nice to see here.

B tier candidate.

I like choosing from the A tier. Frazier, Saleh, Lynn, Schottenheimer. Names like that.
With the plethora of talent that we have on this team who needs a coach any way. The HC would just get in the way of all this talent.

Now watch us hire Pete Carrol out of left field and the OC is named Shottenheimer. Then it would all make more sense. Saleh d coordinator.

Nothing is guaranteed but at least Chicago is swinging big. Us on the other hand scraping the bottom of the barrel
