Sorry to say it but I would rather see a full dose of marion Barber than this little switch up thing we're doing.

Early in the game MArion ran into the TD with a diving play, witch was called back on a penalty.

Do you think JJ would of done that? would he of gave it that much effort?

I say no.

Later in the game Julius Jones failed to catch an easy pass witch was ofcourse tiped by him and intercepted.

People say Julius Jones is faster than Marion BArber....Are you guys sure about that?

Seems to me Barber is the better athlete....He seems faster, swifter, much stronger and not to mention much more determined.

I'm sorry JJis having a bad year I really am, but when it's time it's time.....

JJ may not be 100% yet,but that is no excuse.Barber seems to run with a purpose, unlike JJ imitating THam.

I agree.

MArion Barber is supposed to be slow and less agile....Look what he's done compared to the according to this much superior back.

I agree with you,IMO Barber should have played all game.Barber would have taken that 51 yard run by JJ to the house.

I have loved Barber since college, mainly because I won on them every week taking the over, but that aside.. Ever see someone really fast not be able to steal bases in baseball? I played ball in college, and someone that could steal bases was far more effective than just the fastest guy on the team. Ricky Henderson wasn't the fastest player in the game.....Same at RB. I don't think MBIII would beat JJ in a foot race(MAYBE), but he is a football player, and plays faster than his 40 time. Plus, he can catch the freakin ball out of the backfield which would have neated maybe the biggest turnover yesterday.

Actually, being hurt is exactly the reason JJ isn't running 100%.

Troy Hambrick had a better average than Emmit Smith when Smith was still starting.

How did that one turn out?

I say you stick with Jones. Why? Because Parcells knows more about football than you do, thats why.

Some one look up Eric Turner's 40 time. He busted a 83yd TD run yesterday, he's can't be faster than MB3 is he?

I agree at least for now. Barber looks to the the TOTAL package, and he runs so hard. JJ needs to recover or whatever is wrongw ith him, and he probably wont be normal until next year.

Ricky Henderson actually was one of the fastest guys in baseball. I heard him claim he ran a 4.2 at one time, which really means a 4.4. That is pretty dang fast for a baseball player.

I like Barber and was glad Parcells didn't listen to some fans during the pre-season and cut him. I just don't see him breaking loose behind this line, either. This offensive line is very bad. There is no room to run.

No one said that we should get rid of JJ and use only MB3. Just right now MB3 is the better runner, while it seems that JJ is starting based on what he did last year. More of what he is CAPABLE of, instead of what he's DOING.

Jones seems to be recognized for what he did last year, and what Parcells perceives him as being more of a break away threat than Barber. While we all know that Jones was hurt and may not have recovered yet, I don't feel that Jones was doing that much for us even before he was injured. So for that reason, plus the fact that Barber seems to be more of an asset to us in the blocking/receiving game, I say go with Barber as the starter until Jones shows us that he is capable of taking away the starting spot from Barber. Give Jones a bit more incentive that way. We all know the state of our OL is sad, however - generally speaking, Barber seems to make more out of his opportunities than Jones does behind the same sad OL this year.

The injury can be used to excuse many things. Especially his lack of cutting ability and explosion once he receives the handoff. That simply is not there this year, but honestly hasn't been there even before his ankle sprain.

But a lack of vision? I don't believe it does. Barber reads his blockers and makes smarter decisions in traffic. Jones simply has not done that this season.

If we stick with Jones for next year, we need to reevaluate our blocking schemes.

The Commanders did that this year and refined their schemes to fit what Portis does best. As a result he was not beat up and running uphill in sand as he was last season.

If we stick with the same scheme we changed to this year, then Barber is the better back.

Well it doesnt taker a blind man to see what running back wants it more.

You know why I know, because I have eyes, and you dont thats why.

Unless you have eyes that can see the Cowboys during the week while practicing you really can't see which back is better.

Parcells sees the backs preform every day and he must see something that tells him that MB3 should not be predominatly featured over J. Jones.

Also teams have a lot more tape on Jones and have realized to keep contain on the outside where he got his big runs last year. They also are always looking for the draw.

The best arguement made in my opinion is the Barber gets more of those YAC's. I believe that Julius runs better than MB3 behind decent blocking. MB3 does better because he can get us some yards even with poor blocking.

Good post. When it comes to judging which RB is better for next year - it'd be in all our best interest to wait until next year to make sure the health of JJ is no longer a factor IMO/FWIW.

Jones may look better in practice, but its obvious during the game he is unsure of himself during the game. He stutter steps and does not hit the hole quick. He's also going down on first contact.

If he's not 100% healthy he needs to sit the bench till next year.
