Cincinnati Bengals Re-Sign Devon Still to Help Pay for Daughter's Cancer Treatment

The Cincinnati Bengals player who was cut from the team and then brought onto the practice squad in order to help pay for his daughter’s cancer treatments says he sees the move as a “blessing in disguise.”

Defensive tackle Devon Still found out Saturday that he had been cut from the Bengals’ roster but then found out he had been given a second chance for his daughter, 4-year-old Leah, who was diagnosed with stage 4 pediatric cancer in June.

“I completely understand where the Bengals were coming from when they cut me because I couldn’t give football 100 percent right now,” Still, 25, told ABC News.

Really nice favor of them.

I couldn't imagine anyone being mentally/physically ready for such a demanding job when your child is facing such a tough battle.

I hope she makes a full recovery. Stage 4...**** cancer.

The Cincinnati Bengals are momentarily the BEST franchise in the NFL in my book.

NFL.com should find a way to fit this story somewhere on its front page.

They would like to, but PS squad signings are more important.

She's adorable! Man, that C-word is a booger. I hate it with a passion.

Saw this yesterday and thought "now this is a non-football story about a practice squad player worth covering,"

Good for the Bengals. And for the record I know Jerry Jones has helped a players family in need. And he wasn't even on the Cowboys, he played for the Desperados
